After the crazy Season 2 finale, fans can’t resist but ask for Big Little Lies Season 3. However, it seems like the makers of the show aren’t really ready to fulfill the demand right now. Viewers had to wait for more than two years to watch the five leading ladies back on screen again. Moreover, neither the audience nor the showrunners expected the series to return. Although it eventually did. Can fans still hope for another installment?
HBO’s popular drama is truly a masterpiece that won eight Emmy awards and three Golden Globe awards for its debut season. It originally debuted as a mini-series, although its high demand convinced the streamer for a renewal. Initially premiered in 2017, Big Little Lies revolves around five women that get implicated in a murder investigation. All five of the leading ladies returned to rock the second installment that aired in June 2019.

Big Little Lies Season 3: Renewal Status
Season 3 of Big Little Lies currently has no scope for renewal. The showrunners have previously claimed that Season 2 release was apparently a miracle. None of them expected the series to return as it was practically complicated to recollect all the cast members together. Luckily, for the second installment, they got the dates, and it managed to premiere at HBO.
However, for Big Little Lies Season 3, HBO president Casey Bloys is very unsure about the possibility. He explains to TV Line that the leading actresses are all busy women and it’s challenging to get them all together again. Moreover, unlike the second installment, he feels that the upcoming one is ‘not realistic.’ Though he accepts that he loves the entire group and would love to work with them together.
This clearly suggests that Big Little Lies Season 3 will struggle a lot to be back on the television. Although it may be possible if fans try too hard.
Fans Demand Another Season
The finale of the second season seemed bizarre to a lot of viewers. This wasn’t because it wasn’t an enjoyable ending but because there must be further discussion over it. Audience demands for more after the crazy climax where the five women confess their crime to the police. Fans cannot accept to be left hanging on the cliffhanger and have shown their disappointment over social media.
Cast Members Hope For Another Season
A few of the cast members have shown interest in having another installment of the award-winning the show. Actress Nicole Kidman said she would love to do Big Little Lies Season 3 because they have ideas for it. However, the makers will do it only when each of the cast members returns to play their roles. Moreover, she adds that this includes child actors as well.
On the other hand, another popular actor of the lot, Shailene Woodley expresses that she’s hopeful for Big Little Lies Season 3. An actress commented on one of her posts on Instagram, asking if Season 3 should happen or not. Woodley replies to her comment, saying, ‘I hope so.’ It seems like many of the cast members are already interested in having another installment. However, will they find enough time to make it practically happen?
Big Little Lies Season 3: Premiere Date
As of now, chances for the renewal of Big Little Lies Season 3 are pretty low. Nobody is sure if HBO will give it another chance or not. Hence, it’s currently impractical to predict a date. Though, if a miracle happens all over again and the series get another installment, it may not come out anytime sooner than 2021.
