Blindspot Season 5: Is NBC Planning To Cancel It? Possibilities of Sequel

NBC

It’s been a few years since NBC’s highly rated crime drama debuted on our screen. Well, to be honest, the showrunners made every successful move to win our hearts. Fans and critics both have now developed a connection with the series. Hence, the rumors and doubts about NBC thinking to cancel Blindspot Season 5 are heartbreaking.
Blindspot initially premiered back in September 2015, with a bewildering premise and concept. Jaimie Alexander plays a mysterious tattooed woman referred to as Jane Doe (also Remi Briggs). The young lady was found by the FBI, naked inside a travel bag in Times Square, New York. What’s crazy is the fact she is unable to reconcile anything about her past life. Moreover, the tattoos on her body are apparently clues to crimes that the FBI will have to solve.

After three incredible seasons, NBC is currently running the fourth installment on the network. Blindspot received positive reviews for its debut season. However, the reviews and viewership decreased with every passing instalment. Will Season 5 make it to our screens this time?

Blindspot Season 5: Cancellation Vs Renewal

Sources suggest that Blindspot has higher chances of cancellation this time. Due to low viewership and depleting audiences, NBC may opt to pull of the series from their network. Although, any such news is yet to be confirmed by the TV network for now. All of the decisions will depend upon the end of Season 4. Fans are against the idea of slating the show and stand in support to give it another chance once again.

Blindspot Season 5: A Bad Series Finale

While many believe that the new season may not make it to the screens, Blindspot’s executive producer Martin Gero says otherwise. As per a report by CarterMatt, show producers are giving many reasons for NBC to give it another chance. Gero explains that the last episode of Season 4 will be ‘a bad series finale.’
The statement suggests that Season 4 is likely to end on a major cliffhanger. If this happens that there will be many plot possibilities for the next season. Gero adds that he is confident about the future of Blindspot and it will surely continue the story. He, along with the team also says that they are ‘not done’ with the series yet. Hence, it suggests that the showrunners want to make a Season 5.
However, the decision totally depends on NBC and their schedule. Also, it will be hard to convince them if they once decide to cancel the series. Moreover, Season 4 finale can totally change the fate of the show. Even if the ending leaves a possibility for another installment, NBC will only consider it based on the performance.

One Month Hiatus Before Season 4 Finale
