Lady Danbury star Adjoa Andoh recently shared a snap of her with the cast teasing that Bridgerton Season 2 might start filming soon. The fans were thrilled as soon as she shared the recent photo straight from the set over the weekend. But it looks like they have to wait for a little more, as the creator teased the current plans for the second season. But, till then, we have plenty of new things to delve into. Let’s see!
Bridgerton, created by Chris Van Dusen, is a regency romance drama on Netflix. The series inspired by Julia Quinn’s novel is set in 1813. It follows the Bridgerton family and their bond with their showy neighbors. Unlike the book, the series focused on racially unified London. That shows Queen Charlotte’s mixed-race culture and color of people in England.
Bridgerton Season 2: BTS Teased Production Updates
Adjoa Andoh took to Twitter last weekend and shared a snap of her with her castmates teasing their return to the sets. Adjoa has finally given the much-required update of the second season. She shared a throwback snap from the first season with Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmel) and Queen Charolette (Golda Rosheuvel). In the picture, Adjoa courtly posses with others and captioned it “gearing up” for the second season. Adjoa’s post a bit assured fans that filming would begin soon.
But Daphne Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor said that the current crisis has made it tricky for them to shoot. Phoebe said that filming for the second season would begin soon, yet the COVID-19 has affected their schedule. She said that they have so many extras and crew members in the upcoming chapter. So, it’s pretty unclear how they could film the following season. But it’s more likely that Bridgerton Season 2 would begin filming this spring in London.
Bridgerton Season 2: New Member Will Join The Team
The second season is yet to start filming. But a new cast has already entered the Regency era. Sex Education star Simone Ashley has joined Bridgerton Season 2 cast. She will recur the role of Kate Sharma, the new love interest of Anthony Bridgerton. Kate is a strong young woman who bears no fools- Anthony much included.
As the second season continues to show the color of people, it’ll follow multiple major Black characters. These include Regé-Jean Page as Duke of Hastings, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte. The creator has already said that there is a bunch of new casts that will join the second run. But, the creator hasn’t disclosed much about them. So, let’s wait till the details come out.
Who Will Return?
Of course, the main cast will return for the second run. Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington and Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton will join. Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton will return with Ruby Barker as Marina Thompson. Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton and Ruby Stokes as Francesca will make a come back too. Will Tilston as Gregory and Florence Haunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton will return as well.
Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton, Bessie Carter as Prudence, and Harriet Cains as Philipa Featherington will return as well. Along with Polly Walker as Lady Portia, Ben Miller as Lord Featherington. Sabrina Bartlett as Siena Rosso and Kathryn Drysdale as Madame will come back. Genevieve Delacroix with Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich and Lorraine Ashbourne as Mrs. Varley will return as well.
