Brooklyn-Nine Nine is an American police procedural comedy TV series. Dan Goor and Michael Schur created this show. This first 13-episodes season made its debut on 17 September 2013 on Fox, which eventually to 22 episodes. Fox canceled the series after the fifth, and then the show found its new life on NBC. It picked up the show for a sixth season, which premiered on 10 January 2019. The latest seventh season of this show concluded on 23 April 2020. The creators gave the green light to the eighth instalment of this show even before the premiere of the seventh season. In November 2019, NBC renewed this drama for its eighth season. With all the rumours going around, the fans are really looking forward to this season. The next season might be tha last one for this Emmy winning show. However, there are also some chances that the show will run for a few more seasons.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 will complete the storylines that were introduced in the seventh season and will feature some new storylines as well. The creators will complete Gina’s storyline in the forthcoming season. In a recent interview, Dan Goor said, “As a series grows and matures – we’ve now done 143 episodes – it’s more difficult to find tales that feel unique. And we don’t want to be in the business of repeating ourselves too much.”

Co-created also told that the creators are thinking about involving the Corona outbreak storyline in the eighth season. The crew only started working on the storyline for the next one and is thinking about how to use the pandemic in it. In a talk with The Hollywood Reporter, Dan Goor said, “There is a dispute about what next year will look like. But the subject is how they have been affected by the virus and the pandemic as New York City residents and as first responders in New York City. How do we keep the show entertaining?”

Goor said, “It’s more likely that Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 storylines will include the personas dealing with life after coronavirus. People lose jobs–does the mate or partner of one of our main cast members lose their job? Does that put financial pressure on them? Does that lead to funny stories about them having to do various jobs at the same time or take a night job?” He also enlightens the fact that the writers have met only one time over the Zoom conference call, and nothing is decided yet.

The show is currently at its pre-production stage. And the crew will start the filming once the situation got under control. The previous two seasons of this show released in the first quarter of the year on NBC. If we follow the patter, the fans can expect Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 to premiere in the first quarter of 2021. However, it might be delayed because of the pandemic.
