The first glimpse of Castle Rock Season 2 is here. Hulu released the first teaser trailer for the sophomore run of Stephen King’s multiverse. However, this time, things seem more horrifying and troublesome with the debut of Annie Wilkes from King’s Misery. The streaming service renewed the show last year in August.
Created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, the anthology web series is an epic stage of darkness and light that involves different characters from Stephen King’s mythological world. The first season of Castle Rock left the audience in utter confusion. The show debuted last year and charmed the fans with its psychological horror plot. Castle Rock is based on different characters and stories from the multiverse of the author Stephen King.
The debut season of Castle Rock was the most successful first season of the streaming service. The first season met with generally positive response from critics. Not just this, the show got nominated for several awards, including Art Director Guild Awards, Satellite Awards, Saturn Awards and more.
Castle Rock Season 2: Teaser Released
The first-look teaser for the second installment of Castle Rock has arrived. The 90-second clip for Stephen King based anthology series features the younger version of Misery villain Annie Wilkes. In Castle Rock, she is developing into a full-fledged psychopath. Also, the teaser makes clear that Wilkes is acting weirdly as she is seeing something that nobody can see or feel.

Castle Rock Season 2: Cast Details
Lizzy Caplan will lead the sophomore run as Annie Wilkes with her daughter Joy, played by Eighth Grade star Elsie Fisher. Along with them, Yusra Warsama from Call the Midwife will feature as Dr. Nadia Omar. He is a Harvard-trained Somali medical director in Jerusalem’s Lot. Also, Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) will join the series as Abdi Omar, Nadia’s older brother. He is the guy who will stand for building a Somali community center in Maine.
After working in The Shawshank Redemption, Tim Robbins is back again for working in the King’s world. He will play Reginald ‘Pop’ Merrill. This character is taken from King’s novel, The Sun Dog, from his 1990 Four Past Midnight collection. In Castle Rock, Pop is dying from cancer but is in retribution with his family.
Furthermore, Garrett Hedlund (Triple Frontier) will play John ‘Ace’ Merrill. He is a bully who is taking over his uncle Pop’s entire business. And, Matthew Alan (13 Reasons Why) will join the Castle Rock Season 2 as Chris Merrill, Ace’s brother, struggling to keep the peace.
Plot Details
Season 2 of King’s dark universe is based on its another horror writing, Misery. The official synopsis for the second season has also released. And according to that, A feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
As per the novel, Annie is on the run from the FBI after committing a murder. She hides up in Maine with her daughter Joy (Elsie Fisher). However, things will get more horrifying there too.

The sophomore run of Castle Rock is scheduled to release on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Castle Rock Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Hulu. The series is all set to create King universe, diverse, yet interconnected, similar to Marvel Universe.
