Episode 12, which was titled “Fortified,” was fascinating for the viewers. This excitement wasn’t because the team found the treasure but because they had found a shred of evidence on the cursed island that hinted them about the French Activity on the land. Gary Drayton came back to the swamp, and Rick Lagina went on a trip to North Carolina to do some research. All this was very exciting as it was all about French History.

What Came Out Of The Research?

Viewers who have been keeping up with the show know that Duc d’Anville has constantly been stopping things on the show. The historical relevance of the name turns out to be very interesting. Back in 1746, the Duc d’Anville expedition was a French effort to revive the bonds with Arcadia. The city is although now a part of Nova Scotia. This expedition was deadly. A number of men died because of various diseases such as scurvy and typhus.
