Good news for Dance Moms fans, Abby Lee Miller officially announced about the renewal of the show. ‘Dance Moms Season 8’ will be the next installment of the series, starring Abby. The eighth season is titled: Dance Moms: Resurrection.
Dance Moms is a reality TV series created by Collins Avenue Productions. The show debuted in July 2011 on Lifetime. Dance Moms primarily revolves around the early training and careers of children in Dance stream. Those students learn under Penn Hills reality star, Abby Lee Miller, the instructor. It also features the interactions of the instructors with the dancers and their mothers.
Dance Moms Season 8: Abby Fought Out of Cancer
Reportedly, Abby’s been struggling with Burkitt Lymphoma, which is an aggressive type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She has been dealing with this since April 2018 and got diagnosed after undergoing emergency spinal surgery. She only confirmed her comeback news through her Instagram handle, wearing a wig. The filming for the season began in January 2019.

The trailer for season eight released on February 5, 2019. And it looks like season 8 will focus on documenting Miller’s ongoing health battle and also her resolution to mold her tea into the right shape. In the trailer, Abby stated that she needs to get back to teaching and to screaming at children.
What Has Happen With The Series Previously?
The seventh season of Dance Moms went downside tremendously. Abby lost quite some girls from her Elite Girls’ group. They split off to create their own group named The Irreplaceables. Abby went mad after seeing the improper dance moves and stormed off the set. The group hired Aisha Francis for their first competition.
However, when undergoing the taste of failure so many times, Aisha fled, leaving the girls coachless. Although, their moms called in Cheryl Burke to choreograph the girls for their Nationals routine. Finally, at the end of the season, the girls became West Coast National Champs. Meanwhile, Abby was going through some serious situations as well. She was sentenced to spend one year in federal prison. She was charged for felony bankruptcy fraud in May 2017.
What Will Happen in Dance Moms Season 8?
Abby’s sudden exit left the audience clueless about the fate of Dance Moms. However, Cheryl stood up and took everything on her shoulders. Cheryl also seemed excited about Dance Moms Season 8.
According to some reports, Dance Moms will come along with some new cast members. Christi Lukasiak (Chloe’s Mom) posted to her social media follows that “they’re replacing all of us.” Here, ‘they’ referred to the show’s original stars.
This time, Abby will have a brand new team to continue her legacy in the dance world. She also shared a clip of her group performing at a competition. The new Abby team consists only one similar face from season 7, Lilliana Ketchman. The new team comprises of dancers Brady Farrar, GiaNina Paolantonio, Hannah Colin, Sarah Georgiana, Pressley Hosbach, Savannah Kristich. Kamryn Smith is also in the team but was absent from the first season.
Dance Moms Season 8 Release Date
