The commendable performance of the debut season led to the show’s renewal up to its third and final installment. Netflix gave us the green flag a few weeks before the Season 2 premiere. The second cycle of the German show left us hanging on the craziest cliffhanger ever. In the last moments, Adam (who is also the grown-up Jonas) kills Martha. However, as Jonas’ younger version weeps over his love life’s dead body, a new variant of her appears right in front of him. Martha claims that she is not who he thinks she is. Moreover, upon asking what time she came from, the character gives Jonas a bizarre reply. She says that the question isn’t from what time, but from what world she came.
A large number of fans suspect that the cliffhanger reveals that there are multiple dimensions out there. Moreover, this could also mean that some of the characters that died in the previous seasons, may actually be alive in the other dimension. If this is true, we may get to see new versions of the characters in Dark Season 3.

On top of all, showrunner Jantje Friese teases that the first season of the series gave out hints on what is about to go down in the final showdown. In an interview with IndieWire, the storyteller reveals that Dark Season 3 may shift its attention onto other key characters this time. Hence, fans may get to see more of grown-up Ulrich or different versions of Jonas, Martha, Noah, and Katharina.

What Else Will Come Of The Final Season?

Besides coming up with new complexities, Dark Season 3 will also work upon to resolve mysteries in other storylines of previous seasons. The last season will let us know about what happened to Elisabeth Doppler (Carlotta von Falkenhayn) and Peter (Stephan Kampwirth) when they got out of the bunker. Besides, it may also elaborate if Katharina was ever able to return to 1986 in search of her son, Mikkel (Daan Lennard Liebrenz).

When Will Dark Season 3 Be On Netflix?

The German Netflix Original does not have a release pattern yet. The first two installments of the show were one and a half years apart. However, Season 2 premiered on a notable date, June 21, 2019, which lines up with the day Michael Kahnwald/Mikkel Nielsen committed suicide. This time, fans suspect that the season may line up with another major event on the thriller. As of now, June 27, 2020, the day of the last cycle and the apocalypse in the story, seems pretty likely.
