Game of Thrones season 8 is almost eight months away from the release, and the fans are eagerly waiting for it. The season 7 finale brought the story a new angle when Jon Snow entered Daenerys’s chamber in the boats and then they had sex. However, amidst all this, Tyrion was glaring at the whole scene with a terrified look in his eyes. Actor Peter Dinklage made a controversial statement over this a few days before.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Peter Dinklage shared some character insight about that scene. Peter said that the first thing came into Tyrion’s mind was, “Keep it down over there. I’m trying to get some sleep!” After the joke, he continued saying, “No. Ah, it’s complicated and very dangerous.” The actor said Tyrion believes that Jon and Dany’s relationship is both “professional and personal” which has do not turn out to be the best choice for anyone yet. He added, “passion and politics don’t mix well.”
Peter added to his statement, “Obviously, Tyrion has feelings for Daenerys. He loves her or thinks he does. She’s awe-inspiring. He’s questioned that because he does not have a good track record for falling in love. There is jealousy wrapped up in there. And he loves Jon Snow, too. They’re the two people he has the most in common with.” Peter’s statement was true to the personality and of his character.
Peter is not entirely wrong. I mean, Jon and Daenerys are really the only two people with whom he has found something in common with, which is being an outcast. His attraction towards Dany is plausible because he thinks she is the only person who can understand him truly. If that is the case, that makes it even more difficult for Jorah Mormont. With Daario in the past, Jon in the present and now Tyrion also in the queue for Dany, Jorah is not even in the league for a bronze medal.
What do you think about this statement of Tyrion? Do you think Tyrion is attracted to Dany? Or is it just some made-up story which Peter told to media to conceal the real truth to be revealed in season 8 of Game of Thrones? Let us know in the comments about your thoughts on this.
