With the arrival of some less known vigilantes from DC Universe, Doom Patrol created a lot of buzz amongst the fans. The audience loved the characters who were thrown out from the DC Universe lately. That is why the DC Universe did not take much time and renewed the show for its second season. Doom Patrol Season 2 will be the next installment of the series.
Doom Patrol features a team of people who received Superhuman abilities in some horrific accidents. These people are DC comics outcasts who have not received much appreciation from the audience. The cast includes Brendan Fraser as Robotman, Matt Bomer as Negative Man, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, led by a scientist, Dr Niles Caulder, also known as the Chief (Timothy Dalton).
With the debut only, Doom Patrol has created its huge fanbase. The show has received quite positive reviews by the audience and the critics as well. It also has a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Because of its worldwide popularity, the renewal of the show for Doom Patrol Season 2 took place just two months after season one wrapped up.
Doom Patrol Will Hit HBO Max
Season one of Doom Patrol premiered only on DC Universe. However, the second season of superhero drama will also premiere on HBO Max, along with DC Universe. The news came in when Warner Bros. officially announced this at their Warner Media Day Live event. This means that DC Universe now lost its exclusive ownership for Doom Patrol.
Doom Patrol Season 2: Plot Details
The first season saw the blending of all the left out superheroes, as they came from very different backgrounds. Chief was the one who brought all of them together, naming Doom Patrol to deal with the menaces which come along against humanity. However, the mentor of Doom Patrol, Chief gets kidnapped by the supernatural super-villain, Mr Nobody. Later, Victor Stone, also known as Cyborg (Jovian Wade), reassembles them to save the Chief.
In the entire first season, the team faced so many kinds of evil situations to save the Chief. Meanwhile, they were also suffering from their inner dilemmas. However, with the help throwback muscleman Flex Mentallo and Chief’s daughter Dorothy, along with a mystical cavewoman, they went through all the situations.
Season 2 of Doom Patrol will see The Brotherhood of Evil joining. Not just this, the second season will also feature a thorn entering to the side of the Chief. Some new faces will come affront to put Doom Patrol. However, we all know that they will get through all with their weird but strong powers.
Doom Patrol Season 2: Release Date
As previously reported, the filming work for Doom Patrol Season 2 is supposed to begin in November 2019. Also, DC Universe confirmed that the second season of the series was in the works at SDCC International. Therefore, Season 2 will likely return by May 2020.
