The second season of Dynasty is about to end, the show has been through so many twists and turns. And even before the end of second season, the show-runners renewed the show for another run. The CW and Netflix officially announced Dynasty Season 3 on January 31, 2019. The CW announced renewal at bi-annual Television Critics Association along with nine other shows.
Dynasty is a spin-off show based on 1980’s primetime soap starring veteran actress Joan Collins. The show revolves around the dirty family drama between two wealthy families, The Carringtons and the Colbys.
Cast Updates: Nicollette Sheridan Will no Longer Continue as Alexis
Since the debut of the show, it is getting some huge setbacks one after the other. According to TVline, Nicollette will no longer continue in Dynasty 3. She has to focus on her mother as she is ill from quite some time. Nicollette joined the cast of the show as Alexis Carrington during the first season.
However, this isn’t the first time that one of the leads left Dynasty. Just after the first season, Nathalie Kelley (Cristal Flores) also left the show. Ana Brenda Contreras took over the character as so-called Real Cristal. James Mackay who plays Steven Carrington, also left the show after his character moved to Paraguay. But according to the speculations, he will reappear in Dynasty Season 3.
Dynasty Season 3 Will Feature Dominique Deveraux
The iconic role of Dominique, played by Diahann Carroll in original series, will feature in the third season. Michael Michele will step in the role as Dominique. She is Blake’s half sister who is known for her outrageous fashion and penchant for drama. Dominique will return to Atlanta after a long time. She spent her past years in New York seeking fame. The announcement about her joining came in less than a month after the departure of Nicollette.
Dynasty Season 3: Love is in The Air
The show is known for its wild and soapy plotting. Season three will mostly focus on love interests on the show. Cristal Carrington’s nephew Sam (Rafael de la Fuente) will fall in love with Steven (James Mackay). Meanwhile, one of the arch-rivals of Blake (Grant Show) and Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) will get together. He was working as Blake’s employee before he went for the opposing party.
Blake Carrington will get engaged to a woman from their competing company. Fallon Carrington, Blake’s daughter and the heiress of Carrington dynasty will try to separate his father and the other woman. Though her plans will unfortunately rebound and she will end up losing a promotion.
The second season is still in continuation. The final episode of the second season will air on March 29, 2019. The end of the second season will also decide the fate of Dynasty Season 3.
Dynasty Season 3: Release Date
Looking through the previous pattern of release, the third season is likely to release in the autumn of 2019. Both the previous seasons also released in the October of 2017 and 2018. However, The CW is yet to announce the release date for Dynasty Season 3.
