HBO has put in much work in the deep-rooted plotline of Euphoria. Well, there’s still a lot left for the series to discuss in further installments. Hence, the network took no time to renew the hit show for at least another round as of now. In fact, it waved the green flag much earlier than we all expected. Back in July 2019, weeks before Season 1 finale, Euphoria Season 2 was greenlit through social media posts.

Will Rue Survive The Drug Overdose? What Will Happen Next?
One of the scariest moments of the series was watching Rue overdose on drugs towards the end of the debut season. It left us all wondering whether our favorite character will survive the drug abuse or not. Fortunately, the show creator finally gives the fans the relieving answer. Writer-director Sam Levinson reveals to The Hollywood Reporter that Rue is not dead in Euphoria Season 2.
He further explains that the fan-favorite character has a big and tough journey ahead of her. Hence, he does not want to cut short a character that means a lot to him as she’s previously battled with addiction to come out on the other side. On the other hand, he reveals that the second season will delve into and unpack in terms of the effects of addiction on Rue and those around her. In fact, he ends up adding that the possibilities are endless in many ways.
Hence, fans may get to see Rue fighting with her drug addiction in Euphoria Season 2. The character may get on the long road to recovery again. In fact, she may even attempt to improve her health, which is deteriorating as of now. However, this won’t be as easy as it looks. Since Jules is now gone, Rue will struggle to move on.
The two lead characters took different paths in the Season 1 finale. While they both agreed to run away together, Rue developed second thoughts right before they had to leave. She denied boarding the train that her partner had already got on. Jules has officially left the town and is now all alone in another city. Well, we hope Rue finds her way back to Jules setting aside her drug addiction.

HBO surprised its fans with a video featuring the collection of shows returning next year. Besides other popular series, the network proudly mentions Euphoria Season 2 about to premiere in 2020.
