The crime drama series left the fans on a bitter note last time, wondering it to be Wallace’s end. However, the creator promised to answer those questions in a more dramatic way. Gangs of London follow the mystery of mob boss Finn Wallace‘s death. After his death, the entire family mourns while strategizing their next move for their criminal organizations’ future. During their planning, a police officer Elliot Finch infiltrates to keep an eye on their partners. Elsewhere, Sean Wallace, who is supposed to be the rightful heir of the organization, denies the power as he tries to find who murdered his father.
Gangs Of London Season 2: Has Filming Begun For The Next Season?
Sope Dirisu has recently teased the filming update of the second season. He told in a press release that the production would take some more months to start. Sope added they’re looking for a COVID-safe environment to begin filming. If it goes as per their plan, then filming would continue soon. Shortly, creator Gareth Evans said that it took three years to create the first season.
And now it’s unpredictable how long it would take to film the second season in such a weird time. Currently, Evans and the directors are mapping out the second season. As he said, they know the scope of huge story threads to be picked and continue the journey. But Sope revealed that he hadn’t received the script yet. So it might take longer time than we thought.
Gangs Of London Season 2: Who Will Be In The Cast?
Most of the star cast from the debut season is likely to reprise their role in the second run. Though Joe Cole’s Sean Wallace killed off in the final moments. Yet, Evans stated that his fate is up in the air. It seems Joe Cole might return. Sope Dirisu will return as Elliot Finch, an undercover cop-turned-criminal who’s under an influential investor’s control. Michelle Fairley as Marian Wallace will also return, deeming her massive part in the finale.
Besides them, Arta Dobroshi as Ed Dumani, Pippa Bennett-Warner as Shannon Dumani, and Paapa Essiedu as Alex Dumani will return. Even Colm Meaney will return as the long-dead Finn Wallace as flashbacks. However, it’s unclear whether the rest of the Wallace family would return as the siblings planned to left the city in the first season finale. Further, the filmmaker Xavier Gens revealed that the next season would introduce a new antagonist.
Gangs Of London Season 2: What Will Happen Next?
The second season would most likely focus on the Wallace family secrets and especially on Sean’s fate. Well, in the final moments, Elliot killed Sean when he proposed a business partnership to Elliot. However, Elliot soon escapes from the interrogator group that later revealed his partnership with a mysterious woman Ms. Kane. But Elliot tries to hide some confidential information from his new bosses. Thus the upcoming season would light up Elliot double-crossing everyone around him as he’s working both sides.
