Homeland Season 8 is just mere months away to premiere on Showtime. Homeland wrapped up its seventh season in April last year. Since then, the fans of the spy drama are longing to have the iconic duo, Carrie Mathison and Saul Berenson back.
Homeland is a political-spy thriller show of Showtime. The series is based on an Israeli series titled Prisoners of War. With the debut season in 2011, the series has gained very much popularity all around the world. Moreover, the show has also won quite many awards, including the Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy Award, and many more.
Homeland Season 8: Teaser Out Now
The first-look teaser for the final installment of the Homeland has arrived. And it looks like Carrie is back again all fit and fine. Although that only looks in the teaser, we do not know what her mental condition is? In the trailer, a very serious man asks Carrie, “Have you ever conspired with a foreign intelligence officer or service.” To that, she replies, “Are you accusing me of something?” However, later, Carrie’s boss Saul Berenson states that everyone breaks under Russian interrogation.
Homeland Season 8: Recurring Cast From Season 4
The main cast of the series will surely return for the final run of Homeland as well. Claire Danes is back as Carrie Mathison along with Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson. Meanwhile, Season 8 of Homeland will feature a nod to the fourth season. The fourth season was set in Afganistan and Pakistan and had Nimrat Kaur and Numan Acar in reprising roles.
Meanwhile, Cliff Chamberlain (State of Affairs) and Hilary Jardine (Van Helsing) has joined the upcoming season. Chamberlain will play Mike Dunne, CIA Station Chief in Kabul, Afganistan. And Jardine will feature as Claudette Fletcher; a former State Department employee turned freelance consultant with a load of global network assets. Also, Maury Sterling, Linus Roache, and Costa Ronin will return for Homeland Season 8.
Homeland Season 8: Plot Details
Previously, the official synopsis for Homeland Season 8 has been out. According to that, Carrie Mathison will work on her recovery from her long, harsh imprisonment in a Russian Gulag. Though she might recover physically, her memory would still be infected. This will be pretty devastating for her mentor, Saul. Meanwhile, Saul will be appointed as the National Security Advisor to the newly elected President Warner (Beau Bridges).
President Warner will then aim to bring the endless war in Afghanistan to an end. For that, he will assign Saul to produce peace negotiations with the Taliban. However, things will not go as plan, and Saul will eventually ask Carrie to help him get through this big mess. Also, the eighth season is going to start fresh and probably do a fairly big time jump between seasons 7 and 8 and put any parallels behind.

The show was initially scheduled to be out in the past June. However, due to the delayed schedule, the release date for Season 8 has moved ahead. Now, the eighth season of Emmy-winning drama will be out on February 9, 2020, on Showtime.
