In a recent interview with Indie Wire, showrunners revealed some information about the spinoff project.
Gough told, the spinoff would probably jump 20 years into the future, and it would have been following The Widow and Gaius’s daughter. Moreover, Bajie would have been still around acting as a mentor. It was more like Kung-Fu Western, he added.
Furthermore, he said, the spinoff would have been a mix of guns and Martial Arts, as was introduced in season 3 finale.
Unfortunately, AMC decided to pass on this proposition as well. So, like the possibility of Into the Badlands Season 4, the spinoff failed to transpire as well.
Into The Badlands Season 4: Cancellation Details
Reportedly, there were early indications that AMC might cancel Into the Badlands sooner or later. The network took a while to finalize the show’s return after its midseason break.
