Carla Gugino fans might finally be able to watch her back on screen soon. It looks like Jett Season 2 is on the cards. The first season of the action crime drama recently concluded on August 9. As the first season finale ended on a cliff-hanger, everyone wants more of their favorite character.
Jett is an American action crime drama series created by Sebastian Guiterrez. The crime drama first premiered on June 14, 2019 on Cinemax. The series revolves around a skilled ex-thief Daisy “Jett” Kowalski. Jett is forced back into doing what she does best as soon as she gets back from prison. Eccentric and dangerous criminals exploit her skills for their ends.
Jett Season 2: Cancelled Or Renewed?
Can Jett live long enough to turn over a new leaf? Has Jett been canceled or renewed for the second season? Well, the ending of the first season suggests that there is a lot of loose ends that need to be tied.
However, there is no such official news regarding the renewal; it is certainly reasonable. The finale of the second season aired recently and Cinemax needs some time to analyze people’s interest.
Another aspect which suggests that the crime series is likely to get renewed is the ratings. Although the views recorded were quite low (126,000 per episode), the ratings undoubtedly boosted ours and the networks morale for sure.
The series is rated with 93% on rotten tomatoes and 7.3/10 on IMDb. Which, in our opinion, is more than enough for a series renewal. If Cinemax sees the value in those 126,000 that tuned in every week, fans will likely get more episodes.
Jett Season 2: Showrunner Is Already Thinking About The Future?
Reportedly, showrunner Sebastian Gutierrez is ready for more if Cinemax decides to renew the series. He said: “I would love to have future seasons to explore these characters, but I didn’t know that until I was making it. He also told as the show was expanding, he already knew what’s going to happen next.
Sebastian added that the first season was shot like a long movie as he wrote all the nine episodes before the production started. He plans to the same if there is a second season.
Jett Season 2: What Will Happen?
Daisy “Jett” Kowalski is always five steps ahead of anyone else in the room. The finale of the episode ended with Jett looking directly at the camera, plotting out all her possible moves.
The intense look at the end, while she works through how to deal with the recent kidnapping of her daughter is enough to know what to expect in the second season. If season two happens, its primary focus is the abduction of Jett’s daughter, and how is she going to protect her.
It will be interesting to watch how Daisy will handle this situation while coping up with the disputes between her and Charlie (Giancarlo Esposito).
Jett Season 2: Possible Release Date
Season one filmed from June to November 2018 and then premiered in June 2019. If Jett Season 2 is happening, fans might have to wait until 2021 for new episodes. As there is no update regarding the renewal, it is unlikely that the filming will start before early 2020.
