Knightfall Season 3: The audience shows much more enthusiasm for the shows with different plot-lines. And when it comes to classic history-related shows, the number increases. Same is with History’s Knightfall. The show had delivered two decent seasons of historical fiction drama. And the fans are longing to have another installment of the series, Knightfall Season 3.
Knightfall is a historical fiction series of History channel, created by Don Handfield and Richard Rayner. The series features the success, fall, persecution, and suppression of the Knights Templar, as arranged by King Philip IV of France. However, the center of attraction os the series is a fictional Templar leader Landry du Lauzon, played by Tom Cullen. He is a brave warrior and a senior brother of Knight Templar, discouraged by the Templars’ failures in the Holy Land.
The second season aired in March 2019 on History Channel. The sophomore run also brought in many additional cast to the series. Along with Mark Hamill from Star Wars, Knightfall Season 2 was joined by Genevieve Gaunt, Tom Forbes, and Clementine Nicholson.
Knightfall Season 3: Renewed or Cancelled?
Knightfall has not reached any solid ground for the third run, in respect of renewal or cancellation. However, the first season witnessed some drop in ratings. And the second season of the show also did not seem doing great, in respect of ratings. Knightfall is averaging with 0.12 rating in 18-49 demographic, along with 650,000 viewers per episode. This is almost 50% drop in viewership as compared to the first season of the series.
Despite all this, the History channel might focus more on delivering the entire story to its audience and will renew the show for its third run. However, these numbers are quite not good enough to carry on for another run. Still, the audience is keeping their hopes high to have Knightfall Season 3.
Knightfall Season 3: Plot Details
The second season of Knightfall saw Landry continuing to struggle against the laws of the Templar Knights. The second run focused more on Templar trying hard to stick to the rules and to make sure that he is right before God, one more time. He was also guided pretty strictly by Talus (Mark Hamil from Star Wars).
In that journey, Landry found purpose again in training the new brothers of the Templar and keeping his daughter alive. Though his ultimate aim was to face King Phillip (Ed Stoppard) in an epic showdown in the last moments of the finale. At the end of the second season, Landry has reached to his task.
Tough the second season left quite some loose threads, to sum up in the third season. Therefore, it is pretty likely that the show will renew for another run real soon.
Tom Cullen Discussed The Third Season
In a talk with Syfy Wire, the lead of the series, Tom Cullen discussed about the future of the series. When asked about the chances of making Knightfall Season 3, Tom stated that there are quite many plot-lines, that can continue in the third season. However, he did not make sure if the series will renew for Season 3 or not.
