Created by David S. Goyer, Krypton is based on DC Comics character. The show is set approximately 200 years before the birth of Kal-El, or our loving Superman. The prequel series focuses on Superman’s grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), and the eventual destruction of their ancestral planet, Krypton.
Seg-El’s family, House of El, has been discredited and shamed. Therefore, Seg tries his best to recover the honor of his family and also, protect his family. Krypton debuted on March 21, 2018, followed by the second season in June 2019. The tweet brought in a breeze of happiness for the fans of superman’s family drama. And with this news, the die-hard fans of the show would expect to hear about the next installment of Krypton, pretty soon.

Krypton Season 3: Renewed or Canceled

The final episode of the second season of Krypton just landed on Syfy. And also, there hasn’t been any update by the network regarding the renewal of the show for Krypton Season 3. Though, last year, the show was Syfy’s highest-rated series. Krypton Season 2 is averaging a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 430,000 viewers. The rating is down by 52% in rating and 45% in viewership, as compared to the first season.

In the previously aired episode of Krypton Season 2 titled “Mercy,” the audience saw the return of Lyta (Georgina Campbell) with a captivating hero’s journey. With the help of the Black Mercy, a parasitic alien plant, Zod has been keeping the real Lyta under powerful illusions. He did this so that he can control the Doomsday. On the contrary, Seg along with Nyssa (Wallis Day), Jayna (Ann Ogbomo) and Dev (Aaron Pierre) try to break into Fort Rozz to stop Zod’s attack on Weather.

Therefore, the audience needs to wait for the final episode of the second season to know what is the fate of Man of Steel’s grandfather, Seg-El, and also, where will Kryton Season 3 will lead its fans?

Krypton Season 3: Premiere Date

The second season of Krypton will air its finale episode on August 15, 2019. And since the renewal status for Krypton Season 3 is still unclear, it is pretty challenging to presume when will the third season premiere. However, both the seasons of Krypton released in the first half of the previous two years. Therefore, if Syfy renews the show soon (in the next two-three months), the third season would also likely premiere in the first half of 2020.
