The fans favorite vampires, witches, and werewolves will be returning for another season. The spin-off series of mega shows, The Vampire Diaries, and The Originals have been renewed for another run. Legacies Season 2 will be the next installment of the series. The CW officially renewed the show for its second season in January 2019, in the middle of its debut season.
After the immense popularity of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, The CW decided to create another spin-off series, Legacies. The show debuted on October 25, 2018, and received its old love from the fans of previous two shows. With its second series announced, the fans are having quite high hopes from Legacies 2.

Stars Sharing Their Hopes For Legacies Season 2
Audience or the cast, each person related to the show have some expectations of their own from the second season. The stars of the show expressed their views and expectations from the show. Danielle Rose Russell, who plays Hope Mikaelson, shared that she wishes for a sweet relationship between Hope and Josie if the plot-line works that way. According to her, it will be really cool to have a female protagonist of a show be sexually fluid.
Matthew Davis, who features as Alaric Saltzman from the mother series, The Vampire Diaries, is also wishing for his character. As he stated, he is hoping some love for Alaric, and it’s at the top of his wish list. Matthew also added that he would also like to have Caroline Forbes aka Candice King returning on the show.
How Hope’s Death Would Likely Affect Legacies Season 2?
The finale episode of the first season ended with Hope jumping into Malivore, erasing her existence and causing everyone to forget about her. As she has gone, for now, things will undoubtedly change for all the people who were around her, including the staff and students at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.
The sophomore run of the show will feature Hope finding her way back home. And in that scenario, she will have to face some of her worst fears in Malivore. Danielle also talked about her character’s possible future with TVGuide. She would also love to explore her darker side a bit after jumping into Malivore, as it will some sort of effect on her mental psyche.
Cameos From The Parent Show In Legacies Season 2
The first season of Legacies also featured some significant cameos from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) and Matt (Zach Roerig) from The Vampire Diaries and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) from The Originals were cast as the guest characters in the first season. Therefore, this time, fans are expecting to see some more similar faces from these shows.
Although, there has not been any confirmation about any special guest yet. However, the series creator, Julie Plec wishes for some of the fan’s beloved characters to return in the second season.
Legacies Season 2 Release Date
The debut season of Legacies had its finale at the end of March 2019. Moreover, there has not been any news on the beginning of production work yet. If the show retraces its path as its second season, Legacies Season 2 will likely release in October 2019.
