Line of Duty Season 6

BBC

Line of Duty Season 6: The fifth season of Line of Duty ended on quite a spectacular note. Viewers came to know that AC-12 has been barking the wrong tree by chasing someone known as ‘H.’ Gill Biggleloe was revealed as the corrupt officer while Ted Hastings was proven innocent. We know that there is one more corrupt police member that is still a part of the team. Who is it?

Back in 2017, Line of Duty Season 6 was also renewed with the fifth season of the series. At the time, Tony Hall, the BBC director-general, said that they are very excited to say that they have renewed the show not only for one season but two. Now that we know more of the show is coming, what’s coming up in Line of Duty Season 6? Here is everything to know-

Production Details: Filming Completed

BBC’s widely acclaimed police drama, Line of Duty, has wrapped filming for the sixth season. The show that started production earlier this year, was forced to shut down the productions in March 2020 when COVID-19 paused everything. However, Line of Duty did resume production in late August 2020. The good news is the team has now wrapped up Line of Duty Season 6.

Speaking about their shooting experience, Martin Compston, who plays Steve Arnott on the show, says that it was very different than how they used to shoot. They are all very lucky to be able to do the job they love. The scripts for the show are superb as ever, and they have given everything to it. So, fingers crossed, everything goes fine.

Line of Duty Season 6: What Will Happen Next?

Not many details about what could come up in Line of Duty Season 6 have been revealed yet. However, we can expect that the upcoming series will follow AC-12. They will try to discover the fourth corrupt police officer. Hastings is on very thin ice after the events of the fifth season.

In the episode, Lisa McQueen told the police that OCG was now fully neutralized in the finale episode of the fifth season. But now we know that Ryan Pilkington is the junior police officer; many questions arise around it. Will he continue to be the OCG’s work from him inside? Viewers can expect to see a lot more of Fleming and Arnott’s personal lives in the next season. They will try to balance things between love, family, and work. It will all indeed be very interesting to see what happens there.

Will COVID Be A Part Of The Show?

Creator Jed Mercurio recently revealed how COVID had affected the show. He says that the sixth season of the show might reflect the pandemic. In an interview with Radio Times Magazine, he said that they were still discussing the possibilities for the kind of representation they want. They did not have any social distancing or masks on the show.

In August 2020, he revealed that we are speaking about it. They will include very simple things that the audience doesn’t notice. They have shot many scenes outdoor where they could follow the social distancing of the crew. It is a safe environment for COVID. So, they are looking forward to making all the changes invisible. They have even re-written some scripts to make the show more relatable.
