Lost In Space Season 3 Not A Paradise

By the end of Lost in Space season 2, the Robinson family saw its fall. The family split during the second installment. Naturally, Season 3 will witness putting together of the fallen pieces. On their way to Alpha Centauri, the Robinson family, as the name suggests, is Lost In Space. Season 3 might be the story of the family reunion and their journey to Alpha Centauri. Although, the upcoming installment might not be the paradise if season 4 is on the cards.

Lost in Space focuses on the adventures of the Robinson family – Maureen, John and their three children – as they traverse outer space. When an alien robot compromises their spaceship, however, they tumble into a wormhole and the Robinsons must evacuate. Meanwhile, they must also contend with June Harris, a criminal psychopath who poses as the benevolent Dr Smith in order to ruin their mission. Season two sees the family sent to an unknown galaxy by alien technology, to a place that the Robinsons had previously been warned was highly dangerous. The series balances twisty sci-fi survivalism with the comforting vibes of a family drama.

That said, there is one more storyline that the third part of the series might focus on. Season 2 left us all with a cliffhanger of Dr. Smith, the main antagonist’s death. Is she really dead? We’ll get the answers in Lost in Space season 3.

Dr. Smith Might Not Actually Be Dead!

The devious con artist whose real name is June Harris is the main antagonist for the show since season 1. She is a manipulative criminal who is faking it all as a therapist. She does not think twice before risking someone else’s lives when it comes to her own safety and secret. In the second season, viewers could see the beginning of changes in her. She was becoming selfless, all thanks to Penny Robinson for the positive change. Penny’s coaching not motivated Dr. Smith, but she also saved Professor Jackson’s life. She also helped John Robinson penetrate the Resolute’s chain of command.

Despite all the changes we could see in the Character, Dr. Smith comes back to her cowardly demeanor in season 3 when she comes to know that a horde of alien robot ships is coming for the resolute. After knowing the truth, Judy tells everyone the last thing they could do to save 97 children. In that scene, Dr. Smith tries to take away the Jupiter transport that could take the children to Alpha Centauri until Will’s robot stops her. Dr. Smith asks the robot for one reason why she shouldn’t do what she was doing. The robots provide her with five instead.

After this scene with the robot, Smith seems to have canceled the plan to escape. So, when the robots attempt to break the magnetic field, Dr. smith volunteers to enter the magnetic field. After this, we can see Dr. Smith’s empty suit and broken helmet, which makes us believe that she died in the process. However, in the ending scenes of the finale, the Robot finds a scarf and rubber ball in the storage compartment. These were the things Dr. Smith was wearing when she died.

If Dr. Smith staged her death, she would have had some time to return to Jupiter before the ship left. She might have snuck into the storage unit copying the trick that they played back in episode 6- Severed when Penny Vijay, Dr. Smith, and Professor Jackson were trapped in rust infested resolute. That time Don had suggested that they could take shelter in the storage compartment where they can control the temperature. If Dr. Smith followed the same trick, she could have been in the Jupiter undetected and safe.
