Manifest is a supernatural drama series by NBC Network premiered on September 24, 2018. The series follows the illusory story of the passengers and crew of a commercial airline flight which disappeared five years ago. Shockingly, the people reappeared after five years who were presumed to be dead.
Will Manifest Season 2 Get Renewed?
The debuting season performed relatively well, which made NBC to order three additional episodes for the season. The first season got a mixed response from the critics and an average of 6.8 million viewership. The show has earned a good amount of fanbase and popularity which will add up the chances of a renewal for Manifest Season 2. However, NBC is yet to make an official announcement. As expected, NBC will announce the renewal in May 2019.
What Has Happened in Manifest Till Now?
Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and her brother Ben (Josh Dallas) was trying to move on over the death of their family members. They lost their parents, Ben’s wife Grace (Athena Karkanis) and his daughter Olivia (Luna Blaise) when their flight disappeared while returning from a holiday trip in Jamaica. Ben and Michaela were in next flight along with Ben’s son Cal.
After five years, the passengers of Flight 828 suddenly reappeared. Soon, the survivors realized that they disappeared for five years, but for the whole time, they were on that flight only. Soon, the survivors begin hearing strange voices in their heads and ordered to save people around them who are in danger. Then they realize that some supernatural power is playing with their minds.
Second Half Introduced a Villain
The mid-season finale of the first season featured antagonist named The Major. He came up with new problems in the lives of the survivors. He was the one who rescued the missing passengers from the flight. Two more survivors who disappeared with flight 828 came back in the latter half of the season.
Soon, the reappeared passengers got to know that the death clock is ticking over their heads. The survivors are living on borrowed time and will die when their time gets over. This happened when they saw the sudden death of Griffin (Marc Menchaca).
The season finale episode also left the audience on a cliffhanger. In the final episode, some gun clash took place between Zeke (Matt Long) and Jared (J.R. Ramirez). Michaela entered the room, and a gunshot took place. It seemed like that shot hit someone. But everything went black by then. The mystery of who got shot will reveal in Manifest Season 2.
What is Likely to Happen in Manifest Season 2?
Griffin’s death will majorly contribute to the plot line of the second season. Also, passengers of that flight know their death day is on June 2, 2024. That’ll affect the characters and would lead them to do some actions that they are not supposed to do. Manifest show runner Jeff Rake stated that the reaction of the audience to this news would affect profoundly on the plot of Manifest Season 2.
When will Manifest 2 release?
Manifest has become the second most popular show and the fifth most-watched show of NBC. It is pretty clear that the show-runners will renew the show, as they’ve renewed some shows ranked below this one.
However, the audiences have to wait until May to have some concrete news about the renewal of Manifest. If Manifest Season 2 get renewed in May 2019, fans can expect a release in the fall of 2019 or early 2020.
