The Emmy Winning series is created by Amy-Sherman-Palladino first premiered in 2017. Just three seasons into the series, the show has been a major hit. It follows actress Rachel Brosnahan as she plays the character of Miriam “Midge” Maisel, who is a house-wife in the city of New York. She discovers that she has a knack for stand-up comedy and chooses to pursue a career in it. The third season of the show ended on quite a cliffhanger. Production Status and Release Date
All fans have been waiting for more than a year for the next season. It looks like fans will have to wait for much longer to enjoy the fourth season. Back in October, the creator of the series Amy Sherman Palladino announced that they were planning to start the production on January 7. She revealed that they were working on costume fittings at that time, they were working on the writings and planned they would do the scripts. By January 7, they would start the production.
As of now, we do not have any update on whether or not the show has started production. Assuming that it has, we will get the show sometime in 2022. With that said, COVID-19 cases are only rising. So, there is a fair chance that this would delay the production further.
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4: What Would Happen Next?
By the end of the third season, Midge’s career was in serious jeopardy. Her jokes at the Apollo Theater came quite close to revealing Shy Baldwin’s truth in public. His manager, Reggie, then fired Midge just before they were about to fly for the second half of their world tour. This will be a huge setback for Midge personally and financially. In an interview, the creators say that they have knocked Midge pretty bad. But that is what show business is all about. It is usually one step forward and two steps back. This is the life of a comic. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 will take us to the 60s, where Midge is a female comic. Sherman says that it is hard for a female comic today, so forget about the 60s where there were only four female comics.
Not just this, Susie’s gambling problems came to light in the third season of the show. That will come into the forefront in the next season. This will indeed bring a lot of drama. On what more would come up in the next season, the third season also teased Lenny and Midge’s special connections. Fans saw Lenny inviting Midge into his hotel room, which she declined at the time. The real Lenny Bruce died in 1966 because of morphine overdoes in L.A. So, it is possible that the upcoming season would see that. Spoilers also say that it is very much possible that Benjamin could come back too.
Will There Be More After Season 4?
The show was temporarily delayed because of you know who. However, now it looks like this wouldn’t just be a temporary effect. The pandemic could end up impacting the show in the long run. During a panel, Sherman admitted that she and her husband, the co-writer Daniel Palladino have started discussing if the series should come to an end sooner than they thought. It would all be because of the pandemic. She says that they are trying to figure out all of that now. Everything is pretty different now. A report by TVLine reveals that the future of the show will be dependent on the success of season 4.
