The drug war is all set to continue with Narcos Mexico Season 2 in the coming year. Recently, Netflix gave away the official release date for the second run of drug drama. Season 2 is slated to be out on February 13, 2020. As the show is premiering just a day before Love Day (Valentine’s Day). Therefore, the couples will have something to twine to on a special day.
Along with the release date, the streaming service also released the first look of stars from the upcoming season, featuring Diego Luna and Scoot McNairy.

It’s quite sure that Michael Pena will definitely won’t return for the second run of Narcos Mexico as Kiki Camarena. However, the other cast members are all set to return for Season 2. Diego Luna will lead the drug war as Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo “Félix,” chased by Scoot McNairy as Agent Walt Breslin.

In some talks about the show, showrunner Eric Newman teased the audience what new the upcoming season will bring. According to him, the second season of Narcos: Mexico is a Pandora’s box, the contents of which still struggle in vain, 30 years later, to try and contain. Not just this, Newman also stated, to understand the current level of drug violence in Mexico, the audience has to know how it all started, and genuinely grasp America’s integral role in it.
Narcos Mexico Season 2: Plot Details
Just recently, some description related to the second season of Narcos Mexico came in. According to that, Season 2 will chronicle the missteps, ill-conceived agendas, and corruption on both sides of the border that have led to a bad time in the failed war on drugs. The show will continue to the mid-1980s, where Félix Gallardo’s super cartel splinters under its own dark weight and social and political shifts within Mexico will prompt its desperate government’s most brazen corruption.
However, America alongside, will put efforts to bring out the revenge for Kiki Camerana’s execution. Although, the situations will lead them further away from any hope for justice and the cycle of violence rages on.
