Narcos: Mexico Season 3; Plot Details, Release Date & Everything Fans Should Know

Netflix

After a brilliant second season finale, the fans are eagerly waiting for Narcos: Mexico Season 3. The previous season cliffhanger left the fans anxious about what will happen next. Narcos: Mexico got a great response from the fans as well as the critics. The critics praised this show by saying it’s a “dangerous, thrilling, and highly addictive series.” This series unleashes a dark, wretched world of drug wars. The series enacts the origin of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s as Félix Gallardo unites the traffickers to build an empire.

Narcos: Mexico is an American crime drama web TV series. Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro created and produced this show. This series made its debut on 16 November 2018. It was initially supposed to be the second season of its parental series Narcos which focuses on the illegal drug trade in Colombia. But then the creators decided to make it a companion series. The series got a quick renewal for the second season on 5 December 2018 that premiered on 13 February 2020.

Narcos: Mexico Season 3: Renewed?

Narcos: Mexico Season 3 is still yet to get a green light from Netflix. But everyone knows that it is just a matter of time when Netflix officially renews the series for the third season. Netflix usually takes a month or two to get additional details about the show and renew it. Since the previous season ended in a cliffhanger, therefore, it is obvious that the third season will come.

Narcos: Mexico Season 3: What Will Happen?

The end of the Felix simply does not indicate the end of the drug war in Mexico. If not Felix, someone else will take his place in Mexico to be the drug lord. At the end of the second season, the fans saw Felix saying, “Now you will see what happens when the cage is cracked and all animals are released.” This line itself indicates the whole mood of the next season.

In a recent interview, the show executive producer Eric Newman said that “You can take out Pablo Escobar, or the Cali cartel, or Felix Gallardo and feel some sort of victory, but in reality, all you’ve done is take the spider to catch the fly. We all know how that ends; it just continues to accelerate into the chaos, which is very much the subject of this season. And so, to end with a while where you realize we’ve achieved nothing except for unleashing these animals, for the most part, we planned to begin the succeeding chapter in the drug war. And  we’ll have less authority over it than we had before.”

Newman unexpectedly also hinted that Amado Carrillo Fuentes might become the next drug lord and take the place of Felix as he is behind bars. He took over administration of the Juarez Cartel last season after destroying Rafael Aguilar Guajardo.

Who Will Be In It?

The main character of the second season possibly might not return for the next installment. The return of Diego Luna as “Felix Gallardo” is in doubt because he is currently in jail. However, anything can happen because he is still alive. Furthermore, Tenoch Huerta as “Rafa Caro Quintero,” Joaquin Cosio as “Don Neto,” and Teresa Ruiz as “Isabella” will not be coming too. Except for them, all the characters from the previous season might return for Narcos: Mexico Season 3.
