After months of online campaigns and lots and lots of saving hashtags, One Day At A Time Season 4 finally got the renewal. After axed by Netflix, the audience lost all their hopes for their beloved show to return. However, cable network PopTV came up as a savior and picked up the show for its fourth run.
The family sitcom focuses on a Cuban-American family living in Los Angeles. The story of One Day At A Time revolves around a single mother Penelope (Justina Machado), living with her mother Lydia (Rita Moreno) and Penelope’s two children, Elena (Isabella Gomez) and Alex (Marcel Ruiz), navigating the ups and downs of life.
Adding to that, the show also succeeded in bringing some severe issues. As Penelope deals with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, all while taking care of her children and going to school to advance her career as a medical professional. Those kids are suffering from their stuff too as the daughter is gay and son gets bullied for being Hispanic.

Mark your calenders fans. The show is about to begin its production work for One Day At A Time Season 4. On Saturday, showrunner and executive producer, Gloria Calderón Kellett used Twitter to announce this big news. According to the tweet, the fourth season will shoot in 2020 for its new home network Pop TV. She also mentioned the dates when the shooting will take place.

However, as the dates got revealed, the audience thought that the dates are for the premiere of the episodes. To that, Gloria re-tweeted and confirmed that those are the shooting dates and not the airing dates. And when she gets the information, she’ll provide it to the fans.

The executive producer and creator of the original 1975 series, Norman Lear shared his feelings on cancellation of the spin-off series. He felt all heartbroken when heard the news of the cancelation of his beloved show One Day At A Time three months ago. Though he also got all overwhelmed and joyous knowing that the Alvarez family will live on once again.
