Though it’s pretty unclear when Ozark Season 4 would come up on our screen, Jason Bateman ensured that it wouldn’t take much longer. The last season left us on a dramatic note, with Wendy and Marty Byrde winning Omar Navarro’s trust. But in the process, they sacrificed a lot, even their close beings. Now with all the intense drama, the fans are beyond curious to know how Ozark would wrap up in the fourth season.
Ozark quick-started its life back in the summer of 2017 on Netflix, and despite drawing frequent comparisons to Breaking Bad, it counts as the best crime drama on Netflix. Even the show alone received 32 Emmy awards nominations for its plotline and screenplay. Starring Jason Bateman, it focuses on Chicago financial expert Marty Byrde who relocated with his family to Missouri to help the Mexican drug cartel for laundering money.
Ozark Season 4: Bateman Revealed Release Details
Recently in a panel discussion, Jason teased that they would indeed return sooner this year. Well, the fourth season faced plenty of delays due to the ongoing pandemic. But, the showrunner Chris Mundy ensured that they’re hoping to return sooner rather than later. The fourth season would be divided into halves as Netflix ordered 14 episodes. So, the first half would presumably air later this year. But it all depends on the production.
Ozark Season 4: When Will Production Begin?
Back in October, the location manager of Ozark, Wesley Hogan, shared that the fourth season would film in nearly 40 different locations. On November 9, filming for the first half of the fourth season began. Soon in mid-December, Wesley confirmed that they have already finished working on the first half of the fourth season. However, Chris Mundy said that they’re currently filming, but pretty slowly. But Bateman believes they would smoothly and quickly wrap up the filming this year.
Ozark Season 4: Who Will Return?
Of course, the core members will return to reprise their role in the final season as well. These include Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde with his wife Wendy Byrde, played by Laura Linney. Sofia Hublitz as Charlotte Byrde will return with Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore. Skylar Gaertner as Jonah Byrde with Charlie Tahan Wyatt Langmore and Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell will return as well. Jessica Frances Dukes as Special Agent Maya Miller with Felix Solis as Omar Navarro will also return.
Some New Faces Will Join The Team
Soon in November, we got word that some new faces would join the final season. These include Alfonso Herrer as Navarro’s family member, Javi Elizonndro. Adam Rothenberg as a stubborn P.I. Mel Sattem, will join with Damian Young as Jim Rettelsdorf. Further, Bruno Bichir as Navarro’s Priest, CC Castillo as Sheriff Leigh Guerero, and Katrina Lenk as Clare Shaw will also join the cast.
Ozark Season 4: What Will Happen Next?
The last season saw Marty and Wendy covered with Helen Pierce’s blood after Navarro killed her in front of them. Soon Navarro explained that he believes in them, and now they are much closer to Navarro than ever. Well, Navarro called it a “new beginning,” but it indeed drew them away from Ruth. After Ruth’s love interest’s death, she joined hands with Wendy’s rival, Darlene Snell, looking to put Wendy down. But the fourth season would explore the couple dealing with the aftermath of what they had done till now.
