Queen Of The South Season 4 is official now. This American television crime drama-thriller series is renewed for Season 4. Queen of The South Season 3 third season premiered on June 21, 2018, and got good reviews and ratings which motivated the network for its renewal. The announcement of the renewal of the series is made on 1st October and is expected to premiere in the mid-year of 2019 as the previous season.

Queen Of The South is an alteration of the successful telenovela La Reina del Sur. It premieres on USA’s sister network Telemundo.

New Showrunners for Queen Of The South Season 4

Queen of The South season 4 will have new showrunners as Dailyn Rodriguez and Ben Lobato. Both of them have been promoted to co-showrunners and executive producers of the Queen of the South, taking over for Natalie Chaidez. Rodriguez has been part of the series writing staff and served as a co-executive producer since the second season.

Lobato has also been a part of the writing staff of the series since season 1 and also served as supervising producer. This change in Showrunner might act in favor of the series as it will add a new vision and perspective to Queen of the South Season 4.

Former Showrunner of Queen of The South Natalie Chaidez said she is moving on to develop her own projects with Fox 21 and Fox Television Studio. She added, after working for 2 years with USA network for Queen of the South, she is proudly passing the baton and champion the growth of co-showrunners Ben Lobato and Dailyn Rodriguez. She said that she is going to miss the fans and family of Queen of the South.

What Happened In Season 3

Queen of the South focuses on a woman named Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga). Teresa Mendoza is forced to seek refuge in America because she ran from the Mexican cartel. Her struggle and exertion are depicted in the series.

In Season 3, we saw Teresa Mendozadoza strikes out on her own. Teresa is resolute to build a new empire for herself. But as we know, for making a new realm, one has to defeat all her enemies. Teresa realizes that being Queen will require more sacrifice and more work than she ever thought as new and old enemies are close in.

Cast and Characters

Alice Braga will continue the role of Teresa Mendoza. Teresa is a poor woman from Sinaloa, Mexico. She becomes a rich woman by building a drug empire.

Veronica Falcon will pursue her role of Dona Camila Vargas. She is Don Epifañio’s estranged wife. Moreover, She is also the head of the American chapter of the Vargas Cartel in Dallas.

The character of Brenda Parra, Mendoza’s best friend, will be played by Justina Machado.
Camila’s right-hand man – James Valdez will be portrayed by Peter Gadiot.

David T. Friendly and Chaidez will executively produce queen of the South along with Lobato and Rodriguez.

The series is a co-production by Universal Cable Productions and Fox 21 Television Studios. Updates about the Queen of the South Season 4 production are yet to be announced, but it is expected to be starting soon. Fans are very eager and fascinated about the series, Queen of the South Season 4 is expected to premiere in mid-2019.
