Netflix

After a massive debut, the fans are eagerly waiting for the return of the teen God of Thunder in Ragnarok Season 2. The fans were pretty impressed by the inaugural season of this show. However, the critics gave it mixed reviews. This show is consistently in the top 10 most-watched series on Netflix around the globe. The superheroes fans got one more series on their waiting list.

The origin of Ragnarok comes from Norse Mythology. It is a Norwegian-language fantasy drama TV series. This show made its debut on 31 January 2020 and became a breakout hit. Is The Show Renewed?

Netflix renewed the show for its second season in March 2020. The creators announced this news with the help of several social media platforms. In one of its tweets, they quoted, “It was just a beginning, and Ragnarok Season 2 is coming.” The streaming giant didn’t disappoint the fans as they were highly concerned about the future of this new show. The creators will start working on the production for the second installment as soon as things become normal.

Ragnarok Season 2: Plot Details!

This show does not take place in the MCU Universe, but it still reminds the fans of mighty Thor. The lead character, Magne, is even known as teen Thor among the fans. He possesses the superpower, just like the God of Thunder. However, he is unaware of the thundering power of his hammer. He has to save his town Edda, from a Ragnarok. The story progressed, and the debut season ended with a massive cliffhanger. In the finale, Magne and Vidar were battling out and ended up getting unconscious. In the closing moments, Magne moved his finger and showed a sign of life. However, the fate of Vidar is still unknown.

Ragnarok Season 2 will pick right after the debut season finale. It will explain the fate of Vidar after that battle. The show will continue a convenient storyline about climate change, but will also draw inspiration from Old World concepts for dramatic purposes. Magne will also face a great threat in the second season because he killed the Jutul leader, and his clan is full of great giants.

Magne’s brother, Laurits, learned that he is the incarnation of Loki, the God of Mischief. Fans already know that he is a giant, and Magne probably killed Vidar. Therefore it can turn Loki into the main antagonist for Ragnarok Season 2. The viewers can also expect to see more Gods except for God of Thunder and Mischief.

Who Will Be In It?

All the main cast members will reprise their roles in Ragnarok Season 2. However, after the first season finale, the fate of Gísli Örn Garðarsson, who plays Vidar, is unknown. The creators haven’t released any updates regarding an addition in the cast. The cast for the second season includes David Stakston as “Magne,” Herman Tommeraas as “Fjor,” Emma Bones as “Gry,” Synnove Macody as “Ran,” Jonas Strand Gravli as “Laurits,” Theresa Frostad as “Saxa,” and Henriette Steenstrup as “Turid.”

Ragnarok Season 2: Release Date

The release date of the second season totally depends on the production of it. It is still unknown when the production shutdown will lift and allow the creators to resume their work. If we take a look at the releasing pattern of Netflix, then the streaming giant takes almost a year to deliver the show on the platform. So the fans can expect to see Ragnarok Season 2 to release in the first half of 2021.
