Sex Education Season 2 has kept us waiting for months now. Netflix’s popular series managed to impress both critics and audience with its debut season. With it’s increasing popularity, the streamer decided not to take long to renew the sex comedy for another run. The renewal was announced back in February, barely three weeks after Season 1’s premiere. It’s been long since then, and fans are anxious to know more about the upcoming installment. Starring a brilliant set of cast members, the series finely defines each and every character on screen. Asa Butterfield as Otis is the highlight of the show. The actor blends into his character’s personality and state of mind. Emma Mackey as Maeve is the perfect complement one could ever have. The two of them make up to be the cutest ship ever. Sex Education also has one of the best collection of supporting roles ever.
The sweet and simple story of the show follows Otis, a teenage boy, who struggles to publically adjust with the fact that his mother is a professional sex therapist. This largely affects his personality and results in making him a social outcast at school. Although meeting Maeve changes his life forever. The two begin a secret sexual health therapy at school.
Sex Education Season 2: Will-they-won’t-they Couples
Otis-Maeve
Otis and Maeve were never actually dating in the series. Moreover, they weren’t even friends by the finale. The two of them went into a fight at the school dance and parted their ways. Though, soon after Maeve read Otis’ apology letter, she went straight to confess her feelings only to find him kissing Ola (Patricia Allison).
The next season may attempt to bring them back together. However, that won’t be as easy as it looks. Otis will struggle to understand that Maeve too, has feelings for him. On the other hand, our leading lady would try not to interfere in between him and Ola, as now she thinks that Otis loves her. While we know that the two will try to stay away from each other, we also know that they’re magnets and Sex Education Season 2 will find a way to reunite the couple.
Eric-Adam
One of the most unexpected yet heart-touching moments in the previous season was Adam and Eric falling for each other. School bully Adam had always been rude to Eric until their passionate encounter, after which they developed feelings for one another. Although, before they could directly confront each other, Adam’s father forced him to move to a military school. Both of them will struggle staying away after everything that happened. However, we hope that they somehow find a way to be back together in Sex Education Season 2.
Production Details
Productions for the return of one of our favorite Netflix shows have begun. The entire cast of the series recollected in early May this year, for their first Sex Education Season 2 script-reading session. The actors are currently filming for the upcoming installment.
Sex Education Season 2: Release Date
Fans may have to wait for a while as Season 2 is still in the middle of its filming schedule. The series may take a few more months to hit the screens again. However, Netflix usually has an annual release plan for its popular show. Since the previous installment debuted back in January this year, Sex Education Season 2 may arrive by January 2020 as well.
