Star Trek: Picard Season 2 has been officially renewed by CBS All Access. Ever since the first trailer of Star Trek: Picard dropped at San Diego Comic-con. There were speculations regarding the spin-off of Star Trek. Surprisingly, there’s more than a month left for the first season to release, and the second season has already received a green signal from CBS All Access.
The inaugural season of Picard will showcase the destruction of the Romulan Empire. Picard is the second show by CBS All Access Star Trek Show. After Star Trek Discovery which released in 2018. And the show is coming up with its second season. Also, the fact that everyone’s favorite Jean-Luc is reprising his role is making the wait worthwhile.

Michael Chabon Will Not Be The Showrunner Of The Second Season Of Star Trek: Picard  

As they say, all good things come to an end. Similarly, Chabon is reportedly stepping down as the showrunner of the upcoming season of Picard. However, Michael, with his producing partner Ayelet Waldman has signed a multi-year overall production past with CBS Studios. Moreover, Chabon will remain the executive producer of the show. This also means that he’ll be creatively-involved with the show. But someone else will take over the spot of the showrunner.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Filming Can Start Soon

The production of the first season of Star Trek: Picard finished in August. And it seems like it’s not too long for the cast and crew to return to work. The first season of Star Trek Picard is releasing on 23rd January 2020. Hence, audiences will have to wait for the second season. However, no official release date has been confirmed. But viewers can expect the show to release in summer 2021. After all the show has confirmed its second season prior to the release of the first season. Star Trek: Picard Season 2 will have ten episodes in total, just like the first one. However, the second season will lose its showrunner, Michael Chabon.
