The story for Season 5 will continue after the events of the fourth season. After the revelation of Kara being Supergirl by Lex Luthor, the bridge of friendship between Kara and Lena (Katie McGrath) got imbalanced. The best of friends will surely no longer continue for the upcoming season. Therefore, Lena’s heartbreak because of her best friend Kara will be the center for the fifth season.
This time, Supergirl will stand in front of a brand new villain in a brand new costume. She will come across Midnight, played by the series new cast addition, Jennifer Cheon Garcia. Midnight will release from an otherworldly prison. Also, Leviathans are ready to pounce, though what they will do is still unknown. However, they will mainly utilize technology as their weapon. Therefore, Supergirl will need to find out more technological solutions and innovations to fight her enemies in season 5.
Moreover, the first half of Season 5 will serve as the pathway for the addition of Supergirl in the most significant crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” According to the storyline from the comics, Supergirl and The Flash died in this crisis. Supergirl Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on October 6, 2019. The day will also mark as the last night of New York Comic-Con. The fifth season will follow the series premiere of Batwoman on The CW.
