The second season of S.W.A.T. ended a couple of weeks ago. And fans are already wondering what will happen in SWAT Season 3. Fortunately, the police procedural drama, CBS renewed the show for its third run two weeks prior to the second season finale. SWAT season 3 will be the next instalment of the franchise. Along with it, CBS also renewed some other series, including Seal Team, Madam Secretary, Bull, Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver.
S.W.A.T. is a crime drama based on the 1975 series and movie of the same name. The show centers around a former S.W.A.T. sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (Shemar Moore), who has assembled a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. It is a collaboration of Sony Pictures Television along with CBS Television Studios. The show ranks 13th on the network with an average of 5.3 million viewership.
Who Will Return For SWAT Season 3?
The third season will also add some new names in its cast list. Though the showrunners are quite tight-lipped on that and have not revealed anything about the third season yet. Meanwhile, Shemar Moore will lead the S.W.A.T. team for another run as well.
The team will also include Stephanie Sigman as Captain Jessica Cortez, Alex Russell as Officer Jim Street, Jay Harrington as Sergeant David “Deacon” Kay, Lina Esco Officer Christina “Chris” Alonso, Peter Onorati Sergeant Jeff Mumford, David Lim as Officer Victor Tan and Patrick St. Esprit as Commander Robert Hicks.
What Will Happen in SWAT Season 3?
A lot of stuff happened in the second season of the show. In that, Hondo’s recent stepping back from the lone gunman case. Therefore, his team will now welcome their sergeant with much more complex and challenging cases.
Meanwhile, the second season delve into much more drama and emotion for Hondo when Daryll’s life was put in danger. At the end of the season, Hondo tries to help Daryl with his recovery. Moreover, The SWAT team once again square off against The Emancipators when they hold a live-stream kangaroo court to execute the city politicians, publicly.
Moreover, Deacon received an LAPD Police Stars, though he felt that he isn’t worthy of that. Street also found out about his mother being under drug influence again. Therefore he eventually called in her parole officer to send her back to prison.
The third season will also bring some action-packed cases along with all the family emotion and drama.
SWAT Season 3 Release Date
The first and the second season of S.W.A.T. released in the fall of 2017 and 2018 respectively. Therefore, the third season would also likely release in the fall of 2019. However, there has not been any word at the beginning of production work. Even CBS has yet to announce the premiere date for SWAT season 3.
