It’s not the first time that they will explore such a brutal face of society in their show. But, this time, it would feel like walking on the thrones. The Chi is created and executively produced by Lena Waithe. The series is a coming-of-age drama that focuses on the group of Chicago’s South Side residents. It follows some fateful events that occurred in the community on the Southside. It soon connects the group as they experience some same trauma unexpectedly. And that brings Emmett, Ronnie, Brandon, and Kelvin together.

The Chi Season 4: When Will It Release?

Recently, Showtime announced its 2021 lineup following the release date and time slot of the fourth season of The Chi. As per the reports, The Chi Season 4 will air on May 23, at 9 pm ET / PT. So the first episode will drop on May 23, and the rest would follow the usual schedule.

On March 18, Waithe dropped a video on Twitter calling the fourth season- a hell of a ride. She said that they had a wonderful time creating and writing the fourth season. Waithe added that they tried to lift everything, including cinematography, the wardrobe, and many other things, so they can make the best show ever possible.

The recent trailer teased that some characters would experience highs and lows over the season while hyping some core relationships journey. As we last saw, Emmett and Tiffany finally tied the knot. So the upcoming season will explore the bond between the two and some exciting discoveries and love. At the same time, the other group partied after it, which continues in the upcoming season. “This season is all about love,” said Waithe. Well, it’s all true as the first glimpse of the trailer teased unconditional affection and care.

But as we moved further, the trailer takes a closure to the memories of the police brutality and pain that some characters might face. Thus the upcoming season would explore some harsh reality of the society and the pain and hardship people face throughout their journey in season 4. But they would find a way to protest against this and how to use their voice against such a system.

The Chi Season 4: Who Will Be In The Cast?

Well, not everyone would reprise their role in the upcoming season as we last witnessed the funeral. But Jacob Latimore as Emmett Washington will return with Alex Hibbert as Kevin Williams. Even Yolonda Ross as Jada Washington with Shamon Brown Jr. as Stanley “Papa” Jackson will also return. Birgundi Baker as Kiesha Williams and Michael V. Epps as Jake Taylor will return as well.

Other stars, including Curtiss Cook as Otis “Douda” Perry and Luke James as Victor “Trig” Taylor, have been upped to series regulars. Meanwhile, some guest stars will also return. These include La La Anthony as Dominque “Dom” Morris, Kandi Burruss as Roselyn Perry, Jason Weaver as Rashaad “Shaad” Marshall, and Tabitha Brown as Octavia.
