The Crown Season 4 wrapped its filming ahead of its original schedule due to the corona outbreak. Many shows are forced to shut down because of the pandemic. While on the other hand, this show almost completed its shoot when the other shows are being shut. It is excellent news for the fans because now they can see their favorite show back on screens sooner than later. All the previous seasons of this show got tremendous response from the fans as well as the critics. This show also won and got nominations for a humongous number of awards.

The Crown is a British historical drama web TV series. Peter Morgan created and wrote this show. It follows the story of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The series covers Elizabeth’s life from her early years to her reign in the 21st century. This show made its debut on 4 November 2016 on Netflix. This series was originally scheduled to have consisted of six seasons, but later it has been reduced to five. This show got critical acclamation for its writing, acting, directing, cinematography, production values, and relatively accurate historical account of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

As we mentioned above, The Crown Season 4 completed its filming early due to the outbreak. Netflix royal drama almost wrapped its shoot while the other shows are halting their productions. Netflix’s two major show Stranger Things & The Witcher also stopped the filming amid the Covid-19 situation. It is good news for the fans because now they won’t get one more hiatus.

The Crown Season 4: Plot Details!

The Crown season 4 will feature the stories of Prince Charles & Diana. It will take place from 1977-1990. It will also recreate the iconic moment of Charles & Diana’s royal tour of Australia in 1983. The fans will see This means fans will get to watch the show go from their connection to their wedding. It will also include their parenthood and the undeniable breakdown of their marriage in a single season.

It will also feature conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Her leadership and relationship with Queen Elizabeth may form the fundamental part of the story. Both of them also shared disputes over some incidents. Thatcher was elected as a PM in 1979 and served the office till 1990. So, her role will play an essential part in the upcoming installment.

Who Will Be In It?

The Crown Season 4 will feature Gillian Anderson as “Margaret Thatcher.” She is well known for her role in The X-Files. Emma Corrin will also join the show as “Princess Diana.” Her addition in the cast was one of the most anticipated cast addition in this series. She is famous for her role in Pennyworth.  

Oscar-Winning Olivia Corman will reprise her role as Queen Elizabeth II. Alongside, Tobias Menzies will play “Prince Phillip” and Helena Bonham Carter as “Princess Margaret.” Further, Josh O’Connor will again act as young “Prince Charles,” Erin Doherty as young “Princess Anne,” and Emerald Fennell as young “Camilia Parker.”

Since the production of this series completed ahead of the original schedule. Therefore the fans can see their royal drama back on screen sooner than the original air date. Netflix has not announced the official release date for the forthcoming installment. However, the fans can expect The Crown Season 4 in the second half of this year.
