The show was going places when it first premiered on Channel 4 and Netflix back in 2017. It opened up to much critical acclaim and immense amounts of love from viewers. Well, one of the main reasons why it worked was it being different from any other teen drama. The audience formed a strange connection with James and Alyssa. Besides, to top it all, the series has one of the finest performances. It has an unpredictable premise with a unique way of presentation.
How Did Season 2 Turn Out To Be?
As of now, people are liking the second season. However, we all agree that it wasn’t as good as the first part. Season 1 was special for millions of us. The latest season tried enough to match the tone and look of the first round. However, it still feels totally different. The installment has less material in the plot and more feelings to describe it. The introduction of the new character helped to stretch the story in subject-matter.
Overall, the season round turned out to be pretty decent and doesn’t spoil the essence of the first part. It continues the story to give closure to our main characters. Fans don’t mind Season 2, but The End Of The F***ing World was quite perfect without it as well.
The End Of The F***ing World Season 3 Will Not Be Renewed!
Channel 4 & Netflix may not renew The End Of The F***ing World Season 3. The second gave us an acceptable end as James and Alyssa finally accept each other. Continuing the story, any further may steal away the essence of the story.
Apparently, show writer Charlie Covell believes the same. She explains that she likes the lot where its left and wouldn’t want to try and eke more out of it anymore. Besides, Covell wants to avoid falling into the pitfall of stretching too much out of a perfectly beautiful story. In fact, she accepts that continuing Season 2 was pressurizing for as she didn’t want to ruin Charles Forsman’s ending.
Hence, as of now, there are almost no chances of Netflix renewing The End Of The Fucking World Season 3. Moreover, most of the fans are in support of the decision.
Should There Be A Season 3?
Well, a large number of fans loved Season 1 and didn’t want Netflix to continue the story any further. Season 2 turned out to be okay, and currently, not many of the viewers have a problem with it. However, we agree that the dark-drama remains as important with or without a second part. The same goes for a third run, as well.
Audiences want the makers to avoid making any more installments. We’ve seen shows that lose their charms upon unnecessarily continuing for further seasons. Well, Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why is the biggest example. As of now, The End Of The F***ing World is fine and complete without a Season 3. However, in case the streamer decides to make more, we hope it worth it.
