Amazon Prime’s recent output, The Family Man, received quite much appreciation and praise just after its premiere. The show has mainly received excellent reviews from the audience and critics alike. Not only this, the fans started asking about the next installment, The Family Man Season 2.
Developed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., The Family Man is an action drama series of Amazon Prime. The show is about an undercover agent for the National Investigation Agency, Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee), who struggles to find a balance between his life as a middle-aged man with family responsibilities and his work at the agency. Also, Shrikant’s family does not know about his work secret, as he told them that he works for a tedious government desk job. The show hones in on the mundanities of this ordinary, everyday struggle of a family man.
Raj and D.K. revealed the basic concept of the show in an interview with Gadget 360. As D.K. told, the show is like a homespun James Bond with no gadgets, not hanging around with babes on a yacht, [but] living in a small two-bedroom apartment in shambles. Backed up by Raj, who cleared that they were more interested in what Shrikant was doing in the gaps, as he’s a family man, he got kids, money problems and much more stuff.
Renewed for The Family Man Season 2
The debuting directors of the series, Raj Nidimoru, and Krishna DK discussed the possible future of the series, in talks with Mid-Day. However, in between talks, the two confirmed the second season of The Family Man. Talking about the cliffhanging end of the first season, the duo stated that they never intended to leave the first season at a cliffhanger, however, that happened organically. The news of renewal thrilled the fans of the show, as they were asking about the next installment since the landing of the first season on Amazon Prime.
What Will Happen In The Family Man Season 2?
The final episode of the show left the audience at a massive cliffhanger. The chemical disaster has been initiated by the terrorist, under Mission Zulfiqar. However, the fate of the city and the nation is still hanging in the middle.
Raj and DK also teased the possible plot of the second run of The Family Man. The duo cleared that they are still brainstorming on how to take the story forward. According to them, the next edition will explore Srikant’s life after completing Mission Zulfiqar. They will also delve into the relationship between Suchitra (Priyamani) and Arvind (her colleague played by Sharad Kelkar).
The Family Man Season 2: Release Date
The first season of espionage drama landed on September 20, 2019, on Amazon Prime. Therefore, the audience will need to wait for quite some for the next installment to arrive. The Family Man Season 2 will likely arrive in September 2020. Though, Amazon Prime is yet to announce the second season of The Family Man officially.
