As of now, The Last Kingdom Season 4 is on all social media. The filming work for the fourth season is ongoing, with the cast members sharing their moments on varied social media platforms.
Now solely owned by Netflix, The Last Kingdom is a British Historical fiction series. The show is based on Bernard Cornwell’s series of novels The Saxon Stories. BBC priorly created The Last Kingdom for two seasons. However later, Netflix became the producer of the show for the third season.
The show focuses on Uhtred of Bebbanburg; a Saxon boy brought up by Danes as he got captured. Since then, he has been trapped between finding his actual place within these two worlds ever since. The first season of The Last Kingdom debuted in November 2015, followed by another two installments in 2017 and 2018. The show has received positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience.

Cnut Wrapped Up Filming

It seems that things are beginning to wind up for Season 4. A week ago, news came in that Magnus Bruun (Cnut) has completed the filming work for The Last Kingdom Season 4. The star used Twitter to share this news for the fans of the show. He captioned the post as, “Hanging up Cnut’s hair and losing the beard after wrapping my scenes for #TheLastKingdom season 4.I am looking forward to you all seeing just how much of a Cnut I’ve been. Because as you know; Once a Cnut always a Cnut.”


However, Bruun’s revelation of removing his beard felt somehow wistful. The fans thought that he might be wrapped up his filming for the entire series. To that, Bruun made clear that he has just filmed the last scene for this season.

Stars Sharing Moments From The Set Of The Last Kingdom Season 4

The production work for the upcoming season is ongoing. Also, most of the cast members are back on set to shoot Season 4 of The Last Kingdom. In addition to that, the actors are posting snaps from the set of the fourth season. Eliza Butterworth (Aelswith) recently shared a picture of her and Millie Brady (Aethelflaed) enjoying the break time on the set of The Last Kingdom Season 4.

The Last Kingdom Season 4: Time Jump

The TV series is drawn from the book series of Bernard Cornwell. And according to the next book, Season 4 will witness a significant time gap. This means that The Last Kingdom Season 4 will also feature some new faces. In addition to that, Netflix has confirmed that Stefanie Martini has joined the show as Eadith, who is Athelred’s new love interest. Also, Jamie Blackley will play Eardwulf, Aethelred’s new right-hand man. Other than these, the entire cast members will reprise their roles in the upcoming season.

The Last Kingdom Season 4: What Will Happen?

One of the stars of the show, Adrian Bouchet recently discussed the upcoming season, in an exclusive interview with Winter Is Coming. When asked about the fate of Season 4, the actor stated the deadly phrase “Death Is Coming.” Though Adrian was not authorized to speak much on where and how this will happen, he confirmed that the upcoming season would certainly witness death.
 

In the interview, he also mentioned that the show is departing from Cornwell’s books from which the show is derived. And as this happens, he is not sure whether the fates of some characters in the books will bear any semblance to what happens on the small screen.

A Lot Of Surprises

Arnas Fedaravicius, who plays Sihtric, a friend and ally of Uhtred, also delve in some talks with Winter Is Coming. As he revealed, the upcoming season will include a lot of water. Arnas also added that the forthcoming season included something that they had to adapt the script due to the outcome of that particular scene.
Not just this, he also teased the fans that Season 4 will have a lot of surprises. As he stated, “It’s gonna be intense. The battles are going to be a lot more detailed. In terms of storytelling, we’re reaching a new level. And amazing acting, of course. It’s going to take a lot of twists and turns, because of the transition to Netflix.”

The Last Kingdom Season 4: Premiere Date

The Last Kingdom Season 4 is set to premiere next year, in 2020. However, Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for the upcoming season of the series.
