Fans have literally done everything they could to save The OA Season 3. Netflix canceled the series after its first two seasons. As per the showrunners, Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the sci-fi show was planned to be a five-season project. Hence, they left fans with a crazy cliffhanger in the Season 2 finale. The cancellation infuriates thousand of viewers due to the incomplete ending.

None of us could ever expect that Netflix would slit a series as well-performing as The OA. The streaming giant is known for picking up dropped shows that are worthy for a second chance. Some of the greatest examples of the same have to be Lucifer and Designated Survivor. However, this year, the streamer has unnecessarily canceled decent projects such as Santa Clarita Diet and Chambers.
Besides slitting the series, Netflix has left the fans with no particular reason for the same. The streamer did not justify why The OA Season 3 can never make it to the screens.

Some of the fans have attempted to begin a petition to save The OA Season 3 from being dropped. As of now, more than 80,000 people have signed the petition. On the other hand, one of the members of its fanbase goes on hunger strike to protest. Whereas a few of them have canceled their Netflix subscriptions to show rage. Moreover, a fan went too far and placed a banner with #SavetheOA at Times Square.
Is There Any Hope For Season 3 Or A Wrap Up Movie?
Several of the popular shows dropped from their networks are now being picked up by other platforms. Fans have previously saved a bunch of series with online petitions and social media campaigns. As of now, Netflix is not ready to renew The OA Season 3. Supporters later requested for a wrap-up movie to provide the story with a proper ending. However, the steamer disagrees with giving any thought to the idea.
The OA Season 3 can only survive if another platform decides to pick it up. As of now, the chances seem to be meager.
