Production Work For The Witcher Season 2

Already, the streaming service has shown so much of trust in the series that they renewed the show for the second season of The Witcher. The second season got greenlit by Netflix just in November 2019. And as per the recent reports by Redanian Intelligence, the filming work for the second season will commence on February 17, 2020. There are chances that the exact date of beginning for the filming might change. However, the good news is that the fans will have the second season soon.

The ones who will survive the first season of The Witcher will likely return for the second one as well. Lead by Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia; the second season will definitely see the return of Anya Chalotra, the witchiest witch of Nilfgaard and Yennefer of Vengerberg. This was confirmed by showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, at the time of renewal announcement for Season 2. Others on the list include Freya Allan as Ciri. Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe. Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as King Eist. Adam Levy as Mousesack.

The Witcher Season 2: Plot Details

The first season of The Witcher will bring in the invasion of the Kingdom of Cintra by the Empire of Nilfgaard. This will serve as the turning event for the Geralt of Rivia. As Ciri, the princess of Cintra, comes under the provision of Geralt; they get accompanied by the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, Geralt’s former lover. And the entire show revolves around these three characters.
The first season of The Witcher will feature some of the short stories of The Last Wish, by Andrej Sapkowski. Though the first season will not be enough to cover the entire material of the collection, as confirmed by executive producer Tomek Baginski in an interview. However, there are chances that the second season might finish with The Last Wish and will combine Blood of Elves in it.

The first season of The Witcher is due to be out on December 20, 2019, alongside Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Therefore, the fans need to wait for a while for the return of Season 2. The Witcher Season 2 would likely arrive at the same time, by the end of 2020.
