Initially, she thinks that living in Virgin River away from home is the solution to all her problems, but in the meantime, she realized that living in that town is not easy at all. Later she finds a little hope in Jack Sheridan. Jack helps Melinda in all pleasant ways to make her feel comfortable in Virgin River. He helps Melinda to continue her stay in the new town.
