‘Wonder Woman’ Writer Is Developing New Marvel Female Superheroes TV Series

If you are a fan of Marvel TV shows, there is good news for you. Disney is working on a new series which will be based on some of its famous film characters. As per the reports, ABC is developing a new Marvel series with a focus on female superheroes. The title of the series is yet to be announced but ABC has given a production commitment, and it will come from writer Allan Heinberg, the writer of Wonder Woman.

The female superheroes series will be another hour-long drama which could focus on lesser-known Marvel characters.

The details of the characters of the series are kept under wraps. Marvel TV head Jeff Loeb will executive produce the series with Heinberg. However, A-Force, Lady Liberators and Fearless Defenders are mentioned as some of the more obscure Marvel female-centric properties, but this is just speculation. The network’s entertainment president Channing Dungey told the media platform, “In terms of Marvel, we have some things that we are in discussions with them right now that we are in development,” Dungey added, “I’m very excited about it.”

After the announcement that Marvel Studios has some significant plans for its TV content, the news of female superheroes series came out. Marvel will also be launching new Marvel TV content on the upcoming Disney streaming service with the focus on prominent Marvel Cinematic Universe characters like Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch being named as two of the first characters getting such treatment.

Not only ABC and the Disney streaming service, but Marvel’s live-action TV content also encircle the Marvel Netflix series, Hulu’s Runaways, and FreeForm’s Cloak and Dagger series. Fans highly acclaim these Netflix series.

Moreover, ABC’s Marvel’s Inhumans was working hard to create interest with TV audiences once it failed to attract viewers as an IMAX feature event. As Inhumans flopped severely on both big, and small screens. It puts ABC in pressure to launch a new Marvel TV series.

Jeph Loeb heads the Marvel TV, and he has been behind the Marvel series in recent years including the Netflix’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Punisher, as well as ABC’s Agents of SHIELD, Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger, and Hulu’s Runaways.

Now, the pressure to get success in this new female superhero show on ABC. It is to see the good luck charm of writer Heinberg will work in favor of Marvel or not! Also, after the debut of the Captain Marvel trailer, fans’ expectations of female superheroes have increased.
