The Canadian sitcom premiered back in 2017 and stars Catherine Reitman, Dani Kind, Jessalyn Wanlim, and Juno Rinaldi. They are a group of friends dealing with various challenges of being working mothers. With the announcement of season 5, here are all the details about it.
Workin’ Moms Season 5 Is Officially Happening!
It’s a piece of good news for all the Workin’ Moms fans, the fifth season is officially happening. Catherine Reitman broke the news to all about the renewal of Workin’ Moms season 5. She revealed that the show was green-lit in the time of social distancing. So, she literally is running to the writers’ room from her home. She said that all the writers get on Zoom, they talk about big ideas and do drafts. Everybody wears nice shirts on the top and go bottomless. They are keeping it very casual, Just like the real working moms, Reitman added.
When Is It Coming?
The comment about the writer’s room dates back to April 15, so now, there is a slim chance that the new season could be written. However, CBC has not yet issued any news on the airing. This is a Canadian show, so clearly Canada will the episodes first. However, The coronavirus pandemic has delayed everything, so if things go right, the Canadian viewers might get to see at the starting of 2021?
Will Workin’ Moms Season 5 Come On Netflix?
The show is Canadian, so Canadian viewers will get to see it first. Netflix hasn’t yet spoken about the arrival of Workin’ Moms Season 5. Generally, there is a gap between airing in Canada and the time when it comes to Netflix in the United States. So, Netflix’s silence is not an issue at the moment. For instance, the fourth season of Workin’ moms came on CBC in February, but it didn’t release on Netflix until May, So, it would be pretty jumping in the gun if Netflix announces Workin’ Moms Season 5 just as season 4 hits the network.
Is There An Issue Between CBC and Netflix?
This is although no guarantee that the show is coming on Netflix. Not all CBC shows reach the streaming platform. In a report by Digital Spy, The CBC has started evaluating their relationship with Netflix. The site used Catherine Tait, CBC’s President, and CEO’s words to say that they are now starting to see that they have been feeding the growth of Netflix and not feeding their own business and industries.
Casualties have started becoming visible in fact. The changing relationship between the platforms will affect many things. For example, Anne, with an E, was a beloved Canadian series that got cancelled after three seasons. Netflix and CBC had worked on the series together. Although Netflix does not co-create the show Workin’ Moms, we still have to see the fate of the show on the platform.
