Based on the comic books, Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp’s heir, Wynonna, who has powers to kill the demons with her six-shooter named Peacemaker. She meets ageless Doc Holliday and other people who help her at every nook to battle with the demons during her journey. But her complicated relationship with Doc turns more complex with time.
Wynonna Earp Season 5: Will It Ever Return?
At the moment, the chances of Wynonna Earp’s return are relatively thin, as Syfy had already announced that Wynonna Earp Season 4 was the final season. Although Syfy renewed the series for its fifth run back in 2018. But due to the series of factors, the network dropped the show in February 2021. Well, COVID has been the primary reason for several of the shows’ cancelation, including Wynonna Earp. Besides, when the show was in its fourth season, its parent company IDW undergo financial issues leading to a long halt in the production.
But the devoted fans bought the billboards in New York’s Times Square, hoping to find some support. Fortunately, Canadian distributor Space showed up, and the show began its production. Still, the distributor is one of the reasons for its cancelation. However, last month the series creator Emily Andras announced she’s looking for a home for Wynonna Earp Season 5.
Emily Hoping To Return
While speaking to Deadline, Emily said that it’s not Wynonna Earp’s end, as she’s looking to continue with following spinoff series or movies. She said there are so many things left to tell, including Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught’s spinoff, and who would join them in their new phase of life. Further, they left with Wynonna and Doc’s untold story, which might explore in the upcoming season. But Emily’s currently hoping that they could shift either to Paramount+ or Hulu to explore the missing puzzles.
Wynonna Earp Season 5 Theory: What To Expect?
The last season ended with Wynonna expressing her love to Doc just before they head to see their baby Alice in Miracles, Montana. So, the upcoming season could explore their parenting struggle while dealing with their complicated relationship. As per Emily, the couple might meet with some new demons in their path. Meanwhile, the Black Badge Division might reappear. As Emily said in an interview, it’s more like HYDRA in Marvel. If you cut off one head, the other will soon grow.
She added BBD is more potent than our imagination, so that they might chase Wynonna in her journey. Kate and Eve abruptly left the final season so that they might return with some dangerous plans. Speaking of which, Emily said she has millions of ideas about their return and how they could take down Waverly. But it would entirely focus on Waverly’s story arc- guess we could see that in a spinoff series.
