You Season 2: December Release Confirm! Beck Is Dead! Spoilers & More

You Season 2 is finally arriving at our screens this year. After waiting for almost a year, Joe will be back with his toxic obsession, possibly over another girl this time. The debut installment was a thrilling ride and left us hanging on the worst cliffhanger ever. Is Beck Alive? Here’s every detail about her presence in the upcoming season and Joe’s future actions.
Netflix’s You is surely one of the most nightmarish (in a good way) TV series of all. The show revolves around Joe Goldberg and his crazy obsession with his crushes (later girlfriends). The debut season focuses on Guinevere Beck’s story and how the anti-hero stalks her. Besides, he eventually gets closer to his prey’s claiming that he actually loves them. In fact, he ends up murdering the people that he thinks aren’t suitable for his love interest.

Show creators’ craft shows on the way they present the story. As a psychological thriller, You does full justice to its genre. It opened up to much love from Netflix subscribers and a considerable fanbase as well. Unlike most of the well-performing TV series in history, we hope that the second season turns out to be equally good as its first one. What are your expectations from the upcoming installment? Tell us in the comments below!

You Season 2: Renewal & Production Details

The popular series was initially produced by Lifetime. It later premiered on Netflix too and ended up becoming a Netflix Original show. However, long before the first season even hit the US screens, Lifetime renewed it for You Season 2. Hence, the cast and crew began filming the second installment soon after Season 1’s December 2018 release. On the first day of productions, we came across some pictures of Penn Badgley (Joe), Ambyr Childers (Candace), and the new cast addition, Victoria Pedretti (Love).

Beck Will Not Return!

With the kind of ending we were left with, fans were either sure about Beck’s exit or else, they were hoping the beloved character to return. Sadly, we may not see her any further in the upcoming season. Elizabeth Lail confirms to RadioTimes that she’s not continuing the journey with Penn Badgley and other actors. She adds that nothing will be the same and You Season 2 will pick up a whole new story.

New Exciting Characters

As far as we can guess, Joe will now pick up another love interest to feed his toxic obsession. ‘The Haunting Of Hill House’ fame, Victoria Pedretti has a major role to play this season. Love Quinn, an aspiring chef, who’s working for an unfulfilling job may now be the centre of his odd curiosity. Moreover, she’s also grieving, and upon meeting Joe in Los Angeles, she senses that he too has lost someone.
Since the story will now surround Love, it will also feature people related to her. Hence, You Season 2 will star Charlie Bernett, as Love’s best friend, Gabe. We’ll also see James Scully playing her confident, opinionated and privileged brother, Forty Quinn. He is described as a charming buddy, yet a razor-sharp bully.

Netflix

Other than people related to Love, we also have actors like Melanie Field and Marielle Scott as Sunrise and Lucy, respectively. The former is described as a stay at home mom blogger who raises a toddler. Her partner, Lucy, is an edgy-chic literary agent with a deadpan sense of humour. On the other hand, we also have Jane The Virgin’s child actress, Jenna Ortega, joining in as Ellie.

You Season 2: Release Date

Showrunners previously confirmed that the second installment would be back at our screens this year. However, we’re already into November, and there’s still no news about the exact premiere date. Besides, Netflix’s list of November 2019 releases does not include You Season 2. Hence, it’s almost certain that the season may pick up a date in December 2019.
An announcement may arrive anytime soon, so keep checking this corner. And, don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated with all upcoming details right here.
