The story of the series revolves around Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) and his crazy obsession with his crushes (later girlfriends). With the debut season, Joe puts his focus upon Guinevere Beck and stalks hers. He eventually gets closer to his victim, claiming that he actually loves them. The maniac then murders the people that he thinks aren’t safe for his love interest.
As a psychological thriller, the series does full justice to its genre. At times, it makes us question who we’re rooting. Joe is clearly toxic and shouldn’t be the one we must root for. ‘You’ attempts to discern a difference between care and obsession. The concept of the show managed to leave a mark and hence, opened up to much love from Netflix subscribers.
You Season 2: Renewal & Productions
Initially produced by Lifetime, the series went on to become a Netflix Original show around its release back in 2018. However, long before the series even debuted on the US screens, Lifetime renewed it for You Season 2. Hence, the cast barely took any time to begin filming the upcoming installment. In fact, fans were given some pictures of Penn Badgley (Joe), Ambyr Childers (Candace), and the new cast addition, Victoria Pedretti (Love), as they read the script on the first day of productions.
Are Joe & Candace Dating Again?
Netflix has finally given us the first insight into You Season 2’s plot, and well, it’s bizarre. A picture was uploaded to the show’s social media handles that features Joe and Candace holding hands. The two of them seem to be sitting in some cafe. While Joe looks pretty emotional, his ex looks like she’s trying to comfort him. In fact, the two seem to be in a friendly situation.
The previous season tricked us into believing that Joe may have already killed his first true love interest, Candace. However, in the last moments of the installment, she arrived right in front of him, alive. Viewers were left wondering what may have happened between the couple initially. The latest pictures seem to fuel new theories. Some of the fans claim that it might actually be Candace that somehow prompted Joe’s mental disturbance. What do you think? Joe Replaces Beck
Joe has found his new love interest to obsess upon. You Season 2 will mostly focus upon him trying to woo Love Quinn, an aspiring chef, who’s working for an unfulfilling job. Upon meeting the anti-hero in Los Angeles, she soon becomes the center of his odd curiosity. However, the two may normally connect as Love is also grieving, and she senses that Joe too has lost someone. Although things now might be much different than before as this time, we have Candace in the picture as well.
