Recently, showrunner Greg Weisman teased that Young Justice Season 4 is on its way and currently in development. The unexpected return of Young Justice to the DC Universe after six-long years is leading fans to expect more. But after the streaming platform scrapped off, Young Justice Season 4 again secured a slot on HBO Max. But there are plenty of untold stories left which fans would love to explore.
The animated DC series focuses on a group of teenage superheroes. Robin, Superboy, and Kid Flash, with many other superheroes, formed a team that appeared over the show’s run. Young Justice launched in 2010, while its second season took two years to land on Cartoon Networks. However, after its second run, Cartoon Networks dropped the series, which DC Universe later picked after six years.
Young Justice Season 4: Has It Renewed For The Next Season?
Back in July 2019, the streamer renewed Young Justice for the fourth season when the third season was still airing. But it took a full year for the fourth season to receive the subtitle. During the Young Justice panel, showrunner Greg and Brandon Vietti confirmed the official subtitle for the highly anticipated Young Justice Season 4 as Young Justice: Phantoms.
However, in September 2020, we learned that the show is switching platforms again- as the first two seasons aired on Cartoon Network and the third on DC Universe. But it’s all for the excellent reason, as DC Universe has been remarked as a comics-only streaming service.
Young Justice Season 4: Has Production Begin For The Next Run?
Recently, showrunner Greg Weisman responded to a fan question that Young Justice Season 4, has almost completed its pre-production. He shared a post on Twitter saying “pre-production is virtually” wrapped up. Last year, Weisman said that Young Justice: Phantoms’ 24 episodes had wrapped scripting. Even most of the episodes had wrapped up the voice recording work. Greg added that nine episodes have already been wrapped while several other episodes are in different production stages.
Young Justice Season 4: Who Will Be In The Cast?
Recently, during the Young Justice- Cast Audio Play Performance and Panel at DC FanDome, showrunner revealed the voice cast. Jason Spisak as Kid Flash, Stephanie Lemelin as Green Arrow, Khary Payton as Aqualad, and Nolan North as Superboy will return. Denise Boutte as Rocket will return with Crispin Freeman as Red Arrow and Danica McKellar as Miss Martian.
Jesse McCartney as Grayson / Nightwing / Robin will return with Troy Baker as Geo-Force. Zeno Robinson as Cyborg and Zehra Fazal as Halo will return as well. Well, DC Comics has a strong record, so that several characters will come up in the fourth season. These include Teen Lantern, Amethyst, and The Signal are on the top list. However, no new casting news has been revealed yet. But we can expect that many new heroes and villains would come up in the fourth season.
Young Justice Season 4: When Will It Return?
As of now, there’s no official release date declared yet. But due to the ongoing pandemic, we can expect that the fourth season release date would be pushed a little. Even in an interview, Greg confirmed that though they are currently working remotely, it would take time to wrap. So, we can expect that Young Justice Season 4 would air in early 2022.
