Todd and Julie Chrisley from Chisley Knows Best are finally out of prison. It was after Donald Trump granted them presidential pardon. Earlier, they had gone to prison for crimes like tax evasion, bank fraud and so on. But in May 2025, they finally got out. Since their release, most of their social media posts have shown happy and joyful moments. But now, Todd and Julie are opening up about the hard times, too.
Well, everyone thought only Todd and Julie were hurting. But Savannah has also been carrying trauma. She’s just been hiding it better than anyone realized. She sat down with her parents to tell the audience what a tough time the family went through when the couple was in prison. While fans have been hearing Todd and Julie in interviews, they want to know Savannah’s end of the story, too!
Savannah who has also been a prominent Chrisley Knows Best star, recently spoke about feeling disconnected from her parents. She did so while sitting down with her parents, Todd and Julie, for her own podcast, Unlocked. In it, she explained, even though she loves them deeply, something feels different now. She says there’s a strange distance between them. Fans didn’t see it coming.
It turns out that Savannah believes her mother is showing signs of trauma. Her father seems to hide it better, but the pain is there, too. Savannah admitted that reconnecting hasn’t been easy. All this has been happening since her parents got out of prison. But the podcast episode was proof that the family isn’t hesitating from coming together to accept their new normal and focus on healing.
In the same podcast episode, Savannah opened up about her own struggles. It wasn’t easy for her either. While she talked to her parents Todd and Julie about their expeirneces, she also chimed in time to time to talk about hers. As she shared the clip of it on Instagram, she put up a heartfelt caption. The Chrisley Knows Best star said trauma doesn’t always show itself clearly. But it lives inside and affects everything.
It turns out that while her parents had time to stop and heal, Savannah never did. She had to hold everything together during their time away in prison. That left her with a heavy emotional load. Everyone knows she managed the family, took care of responsibilities, and stayed strong. But deep down, she was hurting just as much. She now realizes how important it is to reset and care for herself.
Thankfully, the family is trying to rebuild. They are talking, sharing, and working through their emotions. Healing may take time, but they’re doing it together.
