Pawn Stars fans know that Rick Harrison is someone who cannot be easily convinced to spend a handful on any item. While it is really hard to get him on board for something, have you ever thought, what if he wants the item and the seller rejects the deal? Well, it has happened on the show a few times when the seller rejected Rick Harrison’s offer.
Once, a guest brought a rare Bank Note, and after taking a good look at it, Rick agreed to buy that note. However, when he presented the offer, which seemed to cover all his bases, the guest still rejected it. But why? Keep reading to know further details.

A user asked an interesting question on Reddit, inquiring whether Pawn Stars ever stopped using the original shop and created a set for it. He added, “What season did it change to a studio set?” A user replied, “I’d like to know too now that you bring it up– as someone who has watched the show since the beginning.” Although many were unsure when the show transitioned to a set, one user provided an explanation.
“Partway through season six, if I remember correctly. There are a couple of giveaways, but the door on the sidewalk is the most obvious one.” The user further added that the show switched it to frosted glass instead of a clear one, and how funny it was to watch the customers or experts walk towards the door. “The shots always cut away before they got to it, because it no longer leads outside,” the user added.
Once, a guest named Nolan brought a rare Mormon Bank Note. The $5 note was from the Kirtland Safety Society Bank. According to Rick, it was the first Mormon bank. The seller added, “Yeah, you have Joseph Smith’s signature on it.” He further said that Joseph Smith was the founder of the Mormon Church, and after he died, Brigham Young took over the church. Rick added that the item was interesting as it was printed in 1832.

Further, Harrison said, “Joseph Smith, who founded the Mormon Church, they weren’t exactly starting their own country, but it was almost like that.” He further explained that the church was doing stuff any government would do. Rick continued, “They created church-run stores and church-run schools.” “So they wanted to get a national charter for a bank, but the U.S. government said, no, denied their application. So they just said, screw it, we’ll open up our own bank,” Rick added.
Harrison further added that Smith signed the note, and a few years later, the church shifted from Ohio to Salt Lake City. After Smith and Brigham moved to Salt Lake City, they reissued the bills, which is why the note bears their two signatures in different inks. Moving further, Rick asked about the seller’s expectations, and he revealed that he is looking for $20,000. Soon after, Harrison called in the expert to examine the item more closely.
After taking a look at the note, Ben, the expert, added, “The first issue of 1937 is very common. The reissue of 1849 is extremely rare.” Ben further added, “The only issued 135 examples with Brigham Young’s signature. I’m surprised! In this condition, it’s remarkable.” After the expert confirmed that the item is 100% authentic, he added that it could be worth $12,000, which was less than what Nolan asked for.
Soon after Ben left, Harrison added, “Okay, so he thinks it’s worth $12,000. I mean, I’ll give you $8,000 for it.” Nolan said that the price Rick offered was significantly less than what he expected and asked him to raise it. Rick went up to $8,500. But the guest rejected the offer and added, “I don’t think I can do that. I think I’d rather take my chance elsewhere.” Rick concluded that it would have been nice to have that item in the shop. And if he changes his mind, he can come back and see him. Keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers for more Pawn Stars tea.
