His mother, Joanne, was married to his father for 58 years. In between, she had a health scare and was hospitalized for over a year. Joanne was in a coma during this phase. At that time, Rick made her sign 51% interest in the pawn shop over to him.
After she came out of the coma, she accused him of tricking and betraying her. She revealed that she didn’t fully understand what she was signing. In 2018, after Rick’s dad died, she inherited 49% of the shares. However, she added that Rick did not give her the complete documentation of the business’s finances.
She accuses that she hasn’t been getting a proper account of over $500,000 worth of cash and silver. She thinks that Richard accumulated those things before dying. Joanne also got a restraining order against him to prevent him from selling their assets. Additionally, she claimed that he has stopped sending them money from Richard share of the business.
Joanne further added that earlier, he used to send her $25,000, but now he keeps everything to himself. The lawsuit further seeks specified damages, an accounting of the assets, and a court order banning Rick from using the funds belonging to her.
